Grandma Reflectin' on state o' things, concernin' society, in this modern age, it comes t' me attention that there's alot o' folk, who refuse t' work at jobs not t' their likin'. Seems t' this granny, any work that earns honest pay, should be accepted, in this time o' difficulties, especially. This person, along wi' many, in harder times 'n these, worked at anythin' they could be fortunate to get, rather than accept charity, if they were able- bodied. Uncle Sam wasn't dolin' out th' dollars, in those days, an' folks couldn't be as choosey as they perfess t' be, nowadays. Seems that pride in oneself has taken a holiday, in many instances, an' th' popular thing t' do, f'r some time, now, is take all ye c'n get. Some live purty high on th' hog, on th' dole, wi'out feelin' a bit guilty. Some o' us pinch an' save an' deprive ourselves o' a lot o' things, t' keep a goin', wi'out dippin' into th' good Uncle's pocket. It b'hooves parents t' teach th' youngun's t' work, an' enjoy th' good feelin' that comes wi' accomplishment o' a good job, well done, no matter what it may be, an' th' reward o' th' hard-earned wage, no matter how much it is. T' think that society should offer only likeable work is fallacy. There's always all kinds o' work t' be done, in order t' keep a decent standard in a community. Parents, who care about what kind o' folks their off spring '11 turn out t' be, better teach 'em t' con tribute their share t' th' family circle, an' learn t' be SAVINGS FANTASY FARM CHH> (AKI(IHTH IASTM VACATION BIIILIUM NOTICE ¥0 PARENTS: We will accept children ages 2 - 12 during Easter school break while you are working or shopping.. Married in Camigliano, Italy (about 200 miles north of Rome) they came to the United States in 1931 and settled in McHenry The couple raised three children; Mary Thies of McHenry. Mrs Tom (Eva) Mooberry of St. Joseph, Mo. and Agostino, Jr. of River Forest,. 111., who in turn presented them with eight w o n d e r f u l g r a n d children...Andrea, Jack, Jerry and Kathy Thies and Augie, Woody, Chris and Kelly Mooberry. Mr. Untri had his own business on the corner of Green and Elm streets for 36 years, until his retirement in 1967 A small dinner party was held in honor of the celebrants by their im mediate family at John Evans in Crystal Lake. Plan Western Event responsible members in society. Th' old cry, "I didn't ask t' be born," is a worn out ex cuse f'r th' indifferent at titude, assumed by many o' th' young folk, these days. None o' us asked t' be here, but we were taught a price in self, concern for others, an' our community, and our country. So. many o' us turned out t' bear offspring o' th' same mind, an' so contribute t" society in a substantial way We have a better standard o' livin' than e'er we thought we'd have, but some have abused th' privileges we enjoy. Now, it's time t' take account, an' correct th' extravagances, an' deficit livin', a lettin' debts pile up, 'til we can't pay f'r 'em.
