SECTION 2 - PAGE 1 - PL> SendMcHenry Delegate s To Convention Of LWV In Concert The New Oratorio Singers will present another full- scale concert of choral masterworks Sunday, April M, at 5 p.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Johnsburg. The public is invited to attend. Directed by Thomas Wikman, the 80 singers, accompanied by an orchestra of 30 professional instrumentalists, will perform Haydn's Mass In Time Of War, Schubert's Mass In G, and a third work to be announced. The chorus sang to a large and appreciative audience in the same setting last fall. Gospel Singers DIANE AND JOHN W1NDLE John and Diane Windle, a talented musical couple, will appear at Wonder Lake Bible church, 7501 Howe road, Sunday. April 26. at the 10:50 a.m. worship service and at the Bible fellowship hour at 6 p.m John and Diane are a young couple who love to sing for the Lord Jesus Christ. Meeting and marrying while in college, both have earned degrees and pursued vocations before beginning their music ministry in 1975. In presenting sacred concerts, they have sung for Christian Women's and Christian Business Men's clubs, the Wisconsin Sunday School convention, high schools, banquets and retreats. Their ministry also includes working with Bible camps. Daily Vacation Bible schools, and children's rallies. They have recorded three albums, entitled, "Count It All Joy." "Each Step I Take" and an album especially for children, entitled "My God Is So Big." John and Diane are on staff with Camp Forest Springs. Westboro, Wis., as a missionary outreach-Gospel singing team Paster Richard N, Wright and the members of the congregation invite the public to come and enjoy the Windle's talent The church is located at the north end of Wonder Lake. Esther Perez. Woodstock and Carol Sek, McHenry, will be the official delegates from the Woodstock- McHenry league They will participate in the league's decision making on program, budget and by­ laws as well as elect officers of state league for the next two years. Sherry Floro. Woodstock and Sheila Aleckson, McHenry are co-chairing the credentials committee for the convention. At the annual meeting of the Woodstock-McHenry LWV held April 9, state and local programs \ were reviewed to guide the delegates at the convention. Kay Hutchings presented background information as the members proceeded to review the current programs. At the state level. School Finance. Fiscal Policies, Child Wei fa re-Juvenile Justice and Criminal Justice in Illinois continue to be of concern and interest. On the local level, it was moved to continue the present program items. Land Use, Schools, and Domestic Violence In addition, a new study of city governments was proposed and accepted. The scope of the study would research the various forms of city governments and make comparisons of city- management 'council) vs mavor-aldermen. The study would also include the ad­ vantages and disadvantages of each form of government as it relates to the cities. The league of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization dedicated to informed participation of citizens in government. There are 75 leagues in Illinois providing in­ formation and carrying out programs of study and ac­ tion Membership in the LWV is open to all citizens 18 years or older.
