Donald R Ramsey, director of the VA regional office, said that most all occupational information is available in audio-visual format and that no ap pointment is necessary for the veteran to inspect the materials The center is open daily from 8am to 4 p.m in room 427 at the regional office located at 536 S Clark. The telephone number of the center is 353-3987 Ramsey said the center can offer veterans an op portunity to develop their job seeking skills through the use of interview training on videotape, and training in resume preparation. The center is for the first- time job-seeker, or an in dividual planning a career change The services are available to all veterans of all wars free of charge Marian Receives NCA Accreditation Principal Thomas J. Parsley of Marian Central Catholic high school an nounced that the school's accreditation has been extended through the 1980-81 school year following review and approval by the North Central association. Ac creditation is for one year at a time and must be renewed annually. "This school was last evaluated in 1972."Parsley said. "In the interim years, a school is accredited on the basis of its report on con ditions existing in the school and on supplementary in formation Our report for 1980-81 assures us of ongoing NCA membership and ac creditation." The North Central association is the largest of the country's regional ac crediting agencies. It is a voluntary league * of over 4,800 schools and 850 colleges and universities in 19 states, plus the Department of Defense Dependent Schools throughout the world. There are 625 schools accredited in Illinois. Accreditation by the North Central Association ensures that the school is meeting the minimal conditions for ef fectiveness. By setting standards for basic operations of the school and by • requiring a com prehensive self-study once every seven years, the NCA stimulates the * school towards continuous im provement. By providing optional, voluntary, self-policed standards, regional ac creditation achieves a large degree of quality control yet does not forfeit a unique and valuable feature - local governance of the schools.
