Wonder Lake Vacation Bible School Opens Public schools arte closing and summer is on its way, and so are the summer activities at the Wonder Lake Bible church. The first big event is Vacation Bible school. This begins on Tuesday, June 9, at 9 a.m. and continues during the week until Wednesday, June 17. The daily sessions are from 9 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. There will be two buses picking up children, one on the East side of the lake and one on the West side, For more information please call the church office at 728-0422. The theme this year is "Jesus, Your Word Lives In Me" and is based on the Beatitudes or "beautiful attitudes of Jesus". There are classes for five year olds through eighth grade. On Sunday, June 7, during the morning worship ser vice, Pastor Richard N. Wright will dedicate the large staff of workers. On 'Wednesday, June 17, there will be a closing program for parents and friends to have an opportunity to see what has been going on during Vacation Bible school. Abby, the cougar, will be visiting the Vacation Bible school again this year. Abby rode on the float during the Wonder Lake Memorial Day parade. She is wearing her reading glasses this year because the theme for Vacation Bible school is, "Jesus, Your Word Lives In Me", and she will be lear ning about the beautiful attitudes of Jesus along with some interesting things about the Bible. There will also be a lot pf fun with Abby, the " puppets, recreation, handcrafts and refreshments. Saturday, June 6, will be the final meeting of the Couples' Bible Study at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Tim and Karen Batdorff. On Sunday, June 14, at 6 p.m. senior choir will present the cantata. "The Good Life" by John Peterson as the finale for this season After the fourteenth the senior choir will be on vacation for the summer months and individuals and groups will be providing special music for the ser vices On Sunday, June 21, Randy Anderson, assistant to the pastor, will deliver both messages. Also, on the twenty-first there will be the monthly visit to Valley Hi nursing home. The visits to Valley Hi continue throughout the entire year. Although the high school youth group will not be meeting regularly during the summer, they will be getting together for a number of activities. The college and career group will be meeting during the summer. Sunday school also continues during the summer along with some special activities planned for July and August. The Wonder Lake Bible church welcomes all people to any of its services and activities. The church is located at the north end of Wonder Lake at 7501 Howe Road. Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m., Morning Worship service at 10:50 a.m., and Biblev Fellowship hour at 6 p.m. The Midweek Prayer and Praise hour is at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Nursery care is available during the Sunday services. Sensorimotor Integration Classes Set "Sensorimotor In tegration," a course spon sored by the Chicago con sortium of Colleges and Universities will be offered this summer in Algonquin at Jacobs high school. The course deals with research findings which show a large percentage of children with .difficulties in academic learning, speech and language development and behavior also have dif ficulties with posture, balance and gross and fine motor coordination. The course will be offered Monday through Thursday, June 15-25. Junior High Johns burg Graduates 167 Students Johnsburg Community Unit School District No. 12 will graduate 167 eighth grade students on Monday, June 8, at the Johnsburg high school gymnasium at 8/ p.m. Rev. Mitchell Considir pastor of Chain O' Lakes Evangelical Covenant church, will deliver the invocation. Cristina M. May and James Owen, members of the graduating class will speak on "Today, Tomorrow? and Yesterday" and "A Look Back, A Look Ahead". The concert band and choir under the direction of Mr. Thomas Steffens will per form two selections, the concert band "Introduction and Dance" - and the eighth grade choir "Yesterday". Honor awards will be presented by Mr. James VanBosch, principal of the Junior high school. Dr. Andreas, Superintendent of Schools, will present the graduating class to Mrs. Bobbie Hart, president of the Board of Education. Mr. James Preston and Mr. Gerald Sobiesk, school board members will issue the diplomas. Rev. Considine will give the benediction and the concert band will perform the recessional.
