There will be no formal worship ser vices at the Ringwood and Greenwood churches Sun day, June 14. Instead, it will be one combined service at the camp grounds at 10 a.m., and following the outdoor service, there will be a pot luck dinner at noon. Perhaps you are not a camping enthusiast but you are still welcome to come out to the grounds, visit with the folks and join in the fun. If it is mealtime, bring some hamburgers to cook over one of the bonfires that are usually going all the time. If you do not have reser vations, please contact Doris Low or Althea Walkington this weekend so there will be space available for your vehicle. It is hoped to locate in the same area as last year but if you have any questions, check at the gate house just inside the park entrance and get the exact location of the Greenwood- Ringwood United Methodist church campsite. . GRADUATE Last Sunday was a very special day for Nancy Parsley, daughter of Tom and Pat (Hogan) Parsley of Crystal Lake. Nancy held the honor of valedictorian of her eighth grade class from St. Thomas Catholic school. During graduation services from St. Thomas church Sunday, she received a $500 scholarship to Marian Central high school. Following the graduation' Tom and Pat entertained grandparents John and Ila Hogan, the Harry and Jerry Hogan families, and the Dick Thompsons. Our congratulations to Nancy for her fine achievements in the first eight years of schooling. SECOND BIRTHDAY John Jacob (J.J.) Friends had brought their video tape and recorded the whole party and then played it back on the T.V. to everyone's enjoyment. J.J.'s parents, Mike and Sue Hogan, served birthday cake with all the trimmings to grandparents, Sig and Ingeborg Jacobson; Brian and Cathy Ackerman, with Jeremy and Melissa; Nancy and Mike Nolan, with Jen nifer; Godfather A1 Harrison; Tom King; Pat and Gene Seever, with John, Therese and Ann. Also, the Seever's friend, Debbie and her son LeRoy. J.J.'s brothers, Mike, Jr. and Christopher were also wishing him a "Happy Birthday". GRADUATES??? Graduation time is on us and I'm sure there are a lot of young people in the area among those graduating. So, call us and let us write up your son's or daughter's special happenings in the column. BASEBALLANYONE? Of course all of the baseball teams are signed up and there is either a practice or game every night of the week. To those of you in the Ringwood area - let us know when your child's team makes a special win or loss. Also, if you are not already in a car pool, talk to your child's teammates' parents and see if you can work something out. With the price of gas now days, it sure would help. I'm sure that some of you parents are already doing this, but be sure you haven't left anyone out. Happy Baseball Season and we hope for lots of wins, but if you are the losing team, do it gracefully and with good sportsmanship. GOOD LUCK!
