spurgeons P L U R A L C O THJEFLOPtST Sets mood and tone for wedding ceremony • • • I bet you didn't know that ACE HARDWARE has a Bridal Registry. Weil, Vicki and Dane found out and they're glad to know that ACE will help their friends and relatives select just the right gifts.. Here Are By DIANE BRADFORD Copley News Service The easiest way for you to set the tone of your wed ding ceremony is through the style you choose for your wedding gown. Wedding gowns come in many styles. If you want your wedding to have a peri od mood -- say Romantic or Victorian -- look for a dress that will follow the styling prevalent in those periods. There are two seasons for bridal gowns corresponding to the two big seasons for weddings -- spring-summer and fall-winter. The main difference in the dresses of the two seasons is the fab rics which are used. A winter wedding dress is often made from lace, crepe, taffeta, peau de soie, satin, brocade and velvet These are all heavier luxury fab rics suited to the cool days of autumn and winter. Summer wedding dresses are shown in organza, chif fon, linen, pique, eyelet and dotted swiss. These light weight fabrics lend them selves well to the airiness of a spring-summer wedding. White is the traditional color for a wedding gown and veil. Other options for a traditional wedding include very delicate shades of pale, pale pink or blue, ivory and light beige. The color you se lect will depend on your col oring and the color you want to prevail in your ceremony. Brunettes with dark skin look best in ivory or beige and fair-skinned blondes should favor white-pastel or pure white gowns. Be sure to make an ap pointment at the department store or specialty store where you are going to pur chase your dress well ahead PAGES *PLAINDEALER • FRIDAY, JUNE I.INI WEDDING DRESS of Ume When y°u make your appointment, you should discuss with the clerk how formal your wedding will be and the price range for your dress.
