PAGE 20 - PLAINDE ALER - WEDNESDAY, JUNE IT, 1W1 Lakemoor-Lilymoor Area Margaret Karas 385-4934 President Sends Wishes Sam Sances was honored on his 90th year with a bir thday card from President Reagan and Nancy. He was also the guest of honor at a party given by his wife Chris June 7. . *?'* Family members present to wish Sam happiness and good health were sister Mary and her husband Steve Pecen; daughters Laurie, Marie and Dolly and their husbands; and Charlie, Bob and Josie from Chicago. The sheet cake with lime icing was delicious, and Sam was fortunate that 90 candles . were not pot on it to be blown out. Sam also received a special greeting card from Representative Robert McClory, which was posted on the bulletin board with the president's. The short bir thday wishes from the Plaindealer column of June 3 was between the two cards. What good company our column keeps! Music was a big part of the enjoyable afternoon. Two guests played their ac cordions. and Sam danced with all the ladies. LAKEMOOR'SLOSS , John and Gloria Cassell with Julie and Bill, are now living in Lakeland Park. They had been residents in our area for many years, a very plus addition for us. The moving was completed the first week in June, but not without a few com plications. There was the day that oldest daughter Mary Lou was moving household goods and a crock pot full of beef barbecue for all the hungry helpers at the new nome. A business truck pulled out in front of her. and in applying the brakes, guess what happened to the barbecue? Fnough was salvaged so that everyone had one sandwich. Then there was daughter Julie driving the wagon, when the muffler committed suicide. A kind neighbor cut it off to prevent further damage, which resulted in a very noisy exhaust. Gloria was sure her new neighbors were aware of them when the muffler-less car was used early the next morning Fortunately, two doors away, live former Lakemoor residents Kitty and Chuck Abel, who are very understanding of automotive problems. We will miss this delightful family Julie was given the Music department award on her graduation from McHenry high school this month. This was the same honor given to older brother John at his graduation in 1972. Youngest brother Bill will be graduating in four years, and we hope to see him receive the same honor. Enjoy your new castle, Cassell family. ANOTHER FAREWELL George and Diane Kawell, f vwith daughter Cari, have left Vour community for a new life and adventures in the state of Washington. George had spent most of his growing up years in Lakemoor, followed by the building of the family home in Lily Lake Park subdivision. The former Diane Chabot graduated from McHenry high school with our daughter Maggie, so our friendship dates back some years. What will the future hold for the Kawells? They will be staying with George's sister Char and her family, until George's job location is determined. As there will be no tifpe pressure in looking for a house, they will be able to do a lot of seeking to find the right one. They will try for a location near the university so Diane can continue with her studies. She graduated from McHenry County college this month with an Associate of Arts degree, and wants to do more of the same. Cari will have the challenge of making new friends and continuing with her gymnastics and WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO LIMIT QUANTITIES ON SALE ITEMS MON.-TNVRS. 9-10 FRI. GRADUATION In honor of graduating after 12 years of schooling. Dawn Meyer was the star of an open house held by parents Wayne and Laura Saturday, June 6. Family, friends of the family, and Dawn's school friends all congratulated the graduate, and enjoyed the afternoon. Dawn has no definite plans for the summer other than trying to amass enough cash for a car, which in today's market, takes a lot of effort and budgeting. Dreams give an incentive for doing. Congratulations to Dawn, with wishes for a productive, happy adult life *9 HAPPY BIRTHDAY June 17 is Dottie Mentzer's birthday. Little Heather Mentzer missed her mother's birthdate by one day.
