Meetings will be in the afternoon from l to 4 p.m. At the last meeting of the group, members were en­ tertained by the beautiful zither music of Bavarian recording artist, Ludwig. The 160 seniors present enjoyed listening to the wide variety of favorite songs he played and sang and sometimes sang along with him. Birthday and anniversary songs were dedicated to those celebrating these occasions. Rose Lingl, Program chairperson, announced that cards with be played at lite next meeting, and prizes will be awarded. The annual picnic will be held at Petersen park at noon, July 15. Games will be played and there will be prizes. Thoafc attending are requested to bring their own lunch; beverages will be provided. ^ Membership cards must be. shown and badges should be worn. Ruth Fradell, financial secretary, reports that there are some tickets left for the play at Shady Lane and also for the races at Arlington. Anyone interested may contact her for reservations. President Liehr an­ nounced that at future meetings, membership cards must be shown. Those who have not paid may mail dues to McHenry Senior Citizens, Box 201, McHenry, III 60050. Pat Gatlin completed the last newsletter by Morris Rogers and announced that a Memorial Mass will be of­ fered for him at the church of St. Mary of the Assump­ tion, June 20, at 11 a.m. Anna Lura, Social, ex­ pressed her appreciation for the cakes and requested members to sign up for cakes for the next meeting. The Social committee served delicious homemade sweets while Ludwig con­ tinued his beautiful music. "The Jolly Goldejr Agers" are adding Thursday bowling, in addition to the Monday bowling. Hie Monday bowling will continue at noon every Monday, but on Thursdays, bowling will begin at 12:15 p.m. Both groups play at the Palace lanes. Route 31 near Johnsburg road. Bowling is good exercise, therapy, and a good sport for the 'not so young anymore'. One does not have to be a good bowler: even those who never rolled a ball are welcome, as the activity is planned for fun and good times. . Justen Family Reunion Research has been going on for a few years to trace a family tree of the Justen descendants of Nicholas and Anna Marie. They arrived in the United States in 1854, from Trier, Germany, farming north of Johnsburg on the German Prairie and finally on north Riverside drive. Their descendants are now invited to Petersen park for a family reunion. Those attending are asked to bring their own food. Liquid refreshments will be available for each family to purchase at a minimal cost. Any pictures or momentos of ancestors that one could bring would be appreciated. W o o d s t o c k , a n ­ nounced the next "Preparation for Paren­ thood". free instructional course - a two-evening session - will begin at 8 p.m. Monday, July 6. The in­ formational program will be held in the hospital dining room on both July 6 and 13 as a free community service program of the hospital Both prospective parents have attended the sessions in the past and are invited and encouraged to do so. Hope Church Mount Hope United Methodist church will hold a pancake breakfast and bake sale Sunday, June 21, at Johnsburg Community club. Pancakes smothered in maple syrup with side plates of browned sausages will be served from 8 a.m. through 1 p.m Those who don't have a ticket will be able to buy one at the door. They will also be able to buy home baked cookies, cakes and other bakery specialties to nibble on later in the day. KEVIN FREUND HONEYMOON IN FLORIDA - Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Freund, are residing in Crystal Lake after a honeymoon trip to Florida. The former Eileen M. Marsh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. The Reverend Herman Graef officiated at the 3:30 p.m. nuptials and special niusic was provided by Joy Spengel. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held for 175 guests at the Johnsburg Community club. The bride Is employed as a secretary and cashier, and the groom is a lineman. MR. AND MRS. DONALD WIGHTMAN The former Linda Hallowell was given in marriage by her father Sunday, June 7, at 4 p.m. The wedding ceremony was performed by Pastor Roger Schneider, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church and appropriate background musk was provided on the organ by Rosemary Schneider. William and Shirley Hallowell, 3002 W. Miller drive, McHenry. are the parents of the bride. The groom's parents are Charles and Patricia Wightman, 7605 Kemman road, Hebron, 111. Christine Hallowell attended her sister-in-law as maid of honor. An uncle of the groom, Charles Dixion, was the best man. Following the nuptials, a reception was held for 100 friends and relatives at the church. The newlyweds are residing in McHenry and plan to take a delayed honeymoon at the Dells in Wisconsin. The new Mrs. Wightman graduated from Marian Central high school and is presently working at Lots of Luck restaurant, McHenry. Her husband to a graduate of Hebron high school and is currently employed as a painter for Deck House. Roundtable Discussion For MADC A roundtable discussion on "Unconditional Love" is the program for the Thursday, June 18 meeting of the McHenry Areas Divorced Catholic group. All separated or divorced persons are invited to attend and join in.
