Main Melton ry MEN'S WEAR The Walden chapel of First United Methodist church, Albany, Ga., was the setting for the exchange of wedding vows June 13. between the former Anne Marie Rose, 5504 Eager avenue, Albany, and Donald E. Peterson, 1718 Country Club drive, McHenry. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Betty Rose of Albany and Mr and Mrs. Charles Rose of Puyallup, Wash Mrs. Nancy Peterson and Mr Richard Peterson of McHenry are the parents of the groom Dr. William Hinson per­ formed the 2 p.m. ceremony before an altar decorated with two arrangements of white gladioli, giant mums, carnations and fuji c h r y s a n t h e m u m s . i n traditional wedding urns, before a background of tall white tapers set in can­ delabra trimmed with ferns. A p p r o p r i a t e w e d d i n g music was provided by the organist, Mrs. Paul Dodez. Sheryll Thomas of Greenville, S.C was the maid of honor Bridesmaids .were Margaret Rose of Birmingham. Ala. and Susan Rose of Albany. Attendants were attired in matching formal dresses of sweet pea aqua, soft dacron Tinasetta. adorned with a band of matching lace. Their wreath head pieces we4e) comprised of aqua silk flowers and ribbons, and they carried nosegays of mixed summer flowers in pastel shades of yellow, lavender and pink. Sandy Jastrzab of Algonquin, ill. was the flower girl and she wore a white eyelet dress. The duties of best man were handled by Stanley J. Jastrzab of Algonquin. Groomsmen were Danny Johnson of Warner Robins, Ga. and Charles W. Rose of Albany. The mother of the bride chose a formal of polyester crepe in sea foam green. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in Lois Ford Fellowship hall of the church. After a wedding trip to Panama City, Fla., the newlyweds will reside in Guam. Mariannas Islands The new Mrs. Peterson is a 1979 graduate of Albany high school; completed her sophomore year at Wesleyan college in Macon, Ga.; and was formerly an employee of the Albany YMCA, Aquatic department. Her husband graduated from McHenry Community high school in 1977 and is presently a sergeant in the United States Air Force. Slate Reunion Picnic For "Kitchen Band The "Kitchen Band" will have its annual reunion picnic Wednesday. July 22, at noon, at Petersen park. As is the custom, this will be a catered picnic, with a lot of delicious food and reservations must be made to Lyda Radisch as promptly as possible. The "Kitchen Band" is still getting requests for programs, although it has not been playing for several years Former members do get together twice a year; for a picnic in July and a dinner in October The picnics and dinners are always well attended and looked forward to with anticipation and en­ thusiasm The group shares a warm relationship and enjoys the fun and fellowship the reunions provide. After the fine food, games and visiting, a discussion will be held as to where and when the October dinner will take place Marcia Mary Ball Sets Annual Circle Picnic The next activity on the agenda for Marcia Mary Ball Circle members and their friends will be the annual circle picnic. It will be a catered lunch on Tuesday. July 7, at noon, at Petersen park Reser­ vations are to be made promptly with Lyda Radisch. A White Elephant sale will also be held and everyone is requested to start collecting white elephants' now. The sale will help replenish the circle treasury. This event is always well attended and the women e n j o y v i s i t i n g a n d reminiscing, as the group reunion picnic-catered luncheon, noon-Petersen park JULY 27 McHenry Senior Citizens- meeting, 1 p.m.-East campus Parishioners of St. Peter's church. Spring Grove, are making plans for the annual Chicken Dinner and Summer Social to be held Sunday. June 28, in the church hall. Serving will be from noon to 3 p.m. Seated left to right are Dolores May, Father Kilduff, pastor, and Luella May. Standing are John Popeika and Eddie May. The public is invited to join in the festivities. Tickets are available at the door. Five Generations has been together for many years. Fifteen members and guests of the circle enjoyed the annual 'luncheon out' recently at the McHenry Country club Club Honors Outstanding Woman Of Year When the Lakeland Park Women's club held its an­ nual Officer's Dinner at a restaurant in the area recently, Viola Kelly was presented a plaque for Outstanding Woman of the Year White corsages were presented to the incoming and outgoing officers. The ladies all enjoyed a delicious dinner and outgoing president, Shirley Koch was presented a gift. Senior Walk-In Center Meals are served Monday through Friday at the McHenry Walk-In center beginning at 11:45 a.m. Reservations must be made by 1:30 p.m the day before at 385-8260 The menu for the week of June 22 through 26 is as follows: June 22: Hot dog on bun, pea and cheese salad, tomato slice, peach and cottage cheese salad, brownie, milk. McHenry, became parents of their first child Feb. 5. at McHenry hospital, and named him Nicholas The baby boy was baptized at the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday, June 14, officiated by Pastor Roger Schneider at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church, McHenry. In observance of the ceremony, the baby's uncle, Greg Boyd of McHenry, and a friend of the family, Wally Johnson of Woodstock, sang "Children of the Heavenly Father", accompanied on the organ by Rosemary Schneider. Following the celebration, a buffet lunch was ho6ted by the celebrant's grandmother in her home, 4608 Garden Quarter, McHenry. Fifty friends and relatives honored the infant and en­ joyed the delicious meal which was highlighted by a decorated cake in the shape of an open book, inscribed "God Bless This Child, Nicholas". Out of town guests, in addition to those pictured, are the baby's paternal grandmother of Chicago and his maternal grandfather of Waukegan. Pioneer Senior Citizens Hold Strawberry Festival The Pioneer Senior Citizens club's annual Strawberry Festival will be held Saturday, June 27, from 10 a m to 4 p.m., by the Masonic temple, 5613 Broadway street, Richmond. 111. In case of rain, it will be held inside the temple. Strawberry shortcakes and sundaes, dishes of strawberries, hot dogs and beef bar-b-que sandwiches, coffee and pop, will be sold on the premises by the senior citizens A Bake sale is also planned located in the midst of the antique shops, visitors to the festival will also enjoy browsing in the stores. The club was organized in 1970. The first Strawberry Festival was in 1972, and it has been the group's fund raising project since then. Donations are made regularly to the rescue squad and other organizations that are helpful to senior citizens.
