The 9 a.m. Worship Service was held at the church, but then the 10;30 a.m. service was held at the farm before the picnic. Other events at Nativity during July included two baptisms. Congratulations to Mrs. Kim Jacobson who was received July 19 by Adult B a p t i s m . A 1 s o r congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Douglas on the baptism" of their son, Christopher William on July 19. Happy Birthday to the following Nativity members who will be having August birthdays: Ken Gabel, Betty Gabel, Dorothy Reuse, Mike Nelson, Sue Malenius, Carrie Hansen, ' Dave Peterson, Cindy Gabel, and Stephen Nelson. Five couples ^ill be celebrating August wedding anniversaries. During Sunday School this summer, the children have looked at the goodness of God's creation and their response to it. Sally Joosten, wildlife director of the McHenry County Conservation department, will present a slide presentation at 9 a.m. Aug. 2. She will also bring as many "Utttt creatures" as possible. Aug. 9 will be a special singing and project work day for all ages, while Aug. 16 there will be Vacation Bible school open' house and program. Aug. 23 will be a special day, a trip to the Milwaukee Zoo. Reservation and payment must be made to Kathie Anderson by Aug. 16. The twleve-year-olds began yesterday. Julv 28: the eleven year olds today, July on Aifet l. All of these teams will be playing at the McHenry VFW at 6 p.m. The fourteen and fifteen-year- olds will both be playing at Petersen parte Aug. 9. Attendance at ball games during the season has been terrific and I'm sure it would be a morale booster for the boys if supporters from the community turned out at these tournament games also. It was a beautiful wedding ; with the vocal selections being sung by Fran's sister,, Lore Merrill and a special selection of Ave Maria sung by Fran's dad, Paul Marke. AMERICAN LEGION Wonder Lake American Legion Auxiliary Post 1160 sent two delegates to the sixty-first State Convention. They were the incoming president, Bernice Peterson and incoming secretary, Vickie Gleason. They also sent three members to a leadership and development seminar July 22. They ^ere Bernice Peterson, Vickie Gleason, and chaplain, Doris Jef­ freys. Two members of the Legion attended the State convention held at the Palmer House from July 23- 25. They were commando', Bob Blatzheim, and ad­ jutant, John Gleason. The American Legion Auxiliary Post 1169 will be holding a Spaghetti dinner Sunday, Aug. 16 from 12 to 5 p.m. Tickets can be pur­ chased at the door or by calling 653-9948.
