The contestants drew for position, and 5-foot, 7-inch Kimberly Koch, Miss Harvard, will be the first to appear. Five-foot, 7-inch Lisa Florine, Miss Cary, will be the final candidate to appear. She drew No. 14 when she became the first person to select a number from the container circulated by Jill Koepke, one of the Miss McHenry County committee members. The candidates appeared before judges in premilinary competition that included all aspects of the Wednesday, Aug. 5, finals except questioning. Van Sells, veteran radio personality, served as mistress of ceremonies for the preliminaries. Orion Samuelson, WGN farm director and a vice president of WGN Inc., will emcee the Aug. 5 finals.
