Elect Directors Of Land Bank August 27 About 675 farm men and women are expected to attend the annual meeting of the Federal Land Bank association of DeKalb- Woodstock Thursday evening, Aug. 27 at the Blue Moon restaurant, Elgin. Election of two directors, each for two-year terms, and a six-member nominating committee to nominate directors next year will take place dicing the business session. The dinner meeting starts at 7 p.m. and will be presided over by Edward Arndt, Malta farmer^ chairman of the board. < The FLBA of DeKalb- Woodstock serves farmers in DeKalb, McHenry, Boone, Lake, Kane, Dupage and the north part of Cook counties with long-term loans for the purchase of land and other l o n g - t e r m a g r i c u l t u r a l commitments. It will bean Autumn Cabaret, Saturday, Oct. 10, at Christ The King church hall. Included in the activities for the night will be two live bands, clowns, en­ tertainment, food and beverages. The Autumn Cabaret is being sponsored by 'the American Legion, Jaycees, and the Business and Professional Woman's club. FOURTEEN-YEAR-OLD ALL STARS WIN Baseball season has finally come to an end for Wonder Lake boys. We had 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15-year-old All Star teams competing in an All Star tournament in McHenry. The 11 and 12- year-olds were out of their tournament after the first two games. The 13-year-olds came in third place in their tour­ nament. The 14-year-olds were really tough, going un­ defeated in the series. At the end of the championship ga­ me, Bob Mortell, McHenry l e a g u e p r e s i d e n t , presented trophies td: Bob Birdsell, Mike Gallagher, Ed Gallagher, Jeff Schuster, Dave Vandehagen, Mark Jinga, Dan LaPlaca, Mike Burrell, Steve Katzenburg, Myron Westra, Mark Mullins, and Jim Wautelet.
