At first glance, it would seem that Shannon is trying to run away from his past, hoping that he can wipe the slate clean. But the hand- Kevin Dobson some sleuth's past catches up with him again when he hooks up with a young lady, only to discover that his wife's loss has wrecked his carnal drive. It isn't every day a TV series delves into a subject like impotence with such compassion. Dobson is the right man for the role but there are times when it seems that the scripting becomes uneven, slowing "Shannon's" development to a snail's pace. I wouldn't go out of my way to say that "Shannon" is as sound as its competition--"Dynasty" on ABC and "Quin­ cy" on NBC. But, it's worth a look see, only because of Dobson's endearing personality. ^ ^
