PAGE 4 -PLAINDEALFR - FRIDAY. 'ANUARY 22, 1M2 "EARL WALSH So I Hear Shut-in for the second Sunday in a row as the temperature drops to 20 below with a wind chill that scares a person So We stay inside and our day goes like this: Eat a hearty breakfast. Read the sports section. Wash neck and ears, shave, comb snarls out of hair Tired out from effort. Sit down. Read Dick Tracy Crank up enough energy to get dressed Look out window. It's white out there. Read more of Sunday paper. Tidy up the house. Whoops! Usually go to noon Mass. It is 10:45 today as Mass is being said for our friend "Red" Winkel. Back home. Put the car in the garage and leave it there for the day. Feed the birds and squirrels. Take off the boots. (This bending is getting me.) /Sired out. Plop down in the big chair to read the morning paper BOB'S COLORS NOW OPEN SONDAYS 9 A M - 1 P M 4720 W. RT. 120 385-1116 •PAINT •WALLPAPER •PICTURE FRAMING Morning paper? What else? Time to pick up a few calories again. Dishes. Look out the window. Don't see any green grass. 01' Rockin' Chair calls me. Turn on TV. Basketball. Read with one eye on the game. Fall asleep. Am told I snored. I didn't hear anything. Up. but not al 'em. Walk through the house. Look out all the windows. Still mighty white out there. Wind is whipping that white stuff around. Now it is tennis on TV. Never thought the good game of tennis could make players so disagreeable. Money players. Read some more. Hold it! I'm getting sleepy again. \. Wonder if cabin fever is setting in9 Opened the door. Air is fresh out there. We talked about the weather and such in vigorating subjects. This isn't as bad as last Sunday when the electricity conked out. Talked about how we should appreciate the Public Utilities men who have to get out in such wicked weather to make us comfortable. The Bob Hope Desert Classic is on the tube. Just look at the scenery and beautiful weather. Some great golf, too. Don't tell me it is time to eat again! Turn on the yard light so we can watch the bunny come to feast. Never see that furry little hopalong in the daytime. > Usually go out for a bite on Sunday night. Long day. Entertaining programs on the screen. Now comes a serious program. Not funny. Looks like dirty work at the crossroads. Have been sitting in this chair a long time --Hope I don't get per manently attached to it. And so to bed. Come Monday morning and we're getting out and cut loose. Another day dawns. Some people are having^ trouble with slippery driveways. No trouble in the days of coal burning when you had ashes to spread. If there was any unem ployment in the plumbing trade, the sub-zero weather took care of the situation. Pipes did dreeze. The long awaited old Timers Baseball Banquet at Johnsburg was held Monday night and a real whing-ding party it was. Since the Plaindealer was so well represented, I won't get into a long story about the program. Will leave that INCOME TAX... The Sooner Yew Does It The Quicker Ya Gits It! Might add I heard some very nice comments about Carl and his sports coverage. You can also expect some comments from Dick Rabbitt. He never misses and never misses much. / * So. I'll just say I had a fun night as always. From the moment Sib Whiting and I went in the door where we met Hank Hiller, Jerry Wakitsch and Leo Smith, it was a real sociable time. Am sure Carl will report the program so I won't duplicate his story. Two things everybody will agree on--it was a sharp program -- and Marie Oeffling and her girls fed us another of those famous meals. God willing. I'll be there again next year. "The 'sexual revolution' of the past 20 years has helped us recognize that our sexuality is vital to our overall well-being. Un fortunately, much of what we have learned about sexuality is still based on myths and misinformation. At times sex, sexuality, and feminity are confused, as well", stated Donna Mabrouk, workshop co- leader. "Such misun derstandings may have far reaching effects upon our personality, • relationships with others and our behavior", added Colleen Campbell. The seminar will provide an opportunity for women to come together in a learning, supportive atmosphere to clarify their values, correct any misinformation, and communicate more easily about sexual issues. This introductory seminar on Female Sexuality is being sponsored by Family Ser vice & Community Mental Health Center for McHenry County and will be held at its 1614 North Richmond road, McHenry location. There is a registration fee. Anyone interested in attending is asked to call, Colleen* Campbell at 385-6400 on Monday.
