A variety of feelings was expressed in the picture above, as they sat on the stage of the West campus auditorium •• some shy, some nervous, somr scared, and maybe one or two a little bored with the whole thinq. Meanwhile, Kathy Costigan, a student teacher, addressed the graduates' parents, grandparents, family members and friends, highlighting the activities of the "little students" and the experience the student teachers acquired while working with them. In the photo at the right, the big moment arrived for Bryan Florence as he received his diploma from student teacher Julie Holtz. A reception followed the ceremony and those in attendance were served punch and cookies, along with a beautifully decorated cake which had been prepared by students in the food class. The group of four-year-olds attended class for about two hours every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from October through January. The program is taught by Amanda Noyes, but run by the junior and senior students who have completed other Child Care classes. The children learned songs, games and basic Skills. But most impor tant of all, they were given the opportunity to let go of Mom's apron strings and "be with" and "get along with" others their own age.
