APRIL 14 Kishwaukee Life Member EASTER SPECIALS. Joyful Noise Preschool Holds Parents Open House "Joyful Noise Christian Preschool announces a Pre- registration Open House for the Fall of 1982. Nursery school classes are open to children two and a half to five years of age. Morning or afternoon sessions are available on Monday through /\Thursday, and mornings on Friday. Two sessions per week is average and a third session is optioiial. Each session runs two and a half hours: mornings from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and afternoons from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Class size is ap­ proximately 20 children and three teachers. Teachers include Jan Kalvaitis, Wynne Roy and Faythe Scott. Ms. Kalvaitis has a B.A. in Home Economics Education and also serves as the director of Joyful Noise. Ms. Roy holds a B.A. in Physchology and is a Cer­ tified School Librarian. Ms. Scott has an Associate of Applied Science degree in Child Care. Joyful Noise is affiliated with Faith Presbyterian church but no effort is made to teach Presbyterian doctrine. Children and staff come from , varied backgrounds and training consists of Christian em­ phasis in songs, prayers and holidays. The school is licensed by the state of Illinois, and the Department of Children and Family Services. Parents and children are invited to attend the Open House, which started Thursday, April 1, from 9:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; and will continue Friday, April 2, from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. Joyful Noise is located at 2107 W. Lincoln road (across from the drive-in theatre). Those unable to attend the open house are urged to call Jan Kalvaitis at 385-5388 to arrange for a visit or to get further registration in­ formation. On Saturday, March 27, children of Joyful Noise Preschool invited their Dads in for a special morning of crafts and entertainment. Each child and father worked together to make a colored Easter bunny. Then, the children and fathers joined in a sing-a-long which featured two fathers playing the guitar and piano. Fifty-six children and fifty-six fathers attended the event, which gave the fathers an opportunity not only to spend a morning with their children, but also to see their school and teachers. Friendship Club Schedules Meeting Saturday, April 10 The next meeting of the Friendship club will be Saturday, April 10, at 5:30 p.m., in the Fellowship hall of the First United Methodist church. McHenry, Mary Butler and Mabel Thomas will have the program. Hosts and hostesses will include Cleda and Leonard McCracken, Lyda Radisch, Helen and Harry Lundy and Gertrude Anderson. The Meat committee will consist of Helen and Dan Creamer, Vivian and Bill Richards, Violet and Charles Kopp, Grace and Adolph Borchers, and Lonah and Elver Wendlandt There were 50 members and guests in attendance when Pastor Lowery said Grace at the Friendship Club Potluck Dinner in March. The meeting was called to order by President Helen Crouch, who thanked the ladies for a very delicious dinner. Guests were in­ troduced and received a warm welcome. Gloria Cassell chose for her meditations some poems from the book "Laughter In The Walls", ending with a prayer. A letter was read from Valley Hi Nursing Home for McHenry County, thanking members for the birthday gifts. Mr. and Mrs. William Wilson were introduced, and they demonstrated a folk dance they had learned while on their trip to Ger­ many. Then Bill showed pictures of their visit, along with a narration, and the excellent presentation was enjoyed by all. Members of the congregation who are 50 years old or older and do not belong to Friendship club are invited and urged to come out and participate in the good times and warm fellowship offered by the club. Dorsch-Waggoner Engaged Carl and Joan Dorsch announce the engagement of their daughter, Lisa, to David L. Waggoner of Crystal Lake. Lisa is the grandaughter of Erich and Elizabeth Dorsch and Mrs. Nick Nett, all of McHenry. David is the son of Leo and Dorothy Waggoner of Des Moines, Iowa. The bride elect is a graduate of Crystal Lake high school and received her associate degree from William Rainey Harper college. She is currently majoring in pre-law at Roosevelt university. The future bridegroom earned his high school diploma at Dowling high school and received a bachelor's degree from Iowa State university. He also has a juris doctor degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, Kent college of Law. THEOS Welcomes Newcomer Another newcomer was welcomed at the March get- together of T.H E.O S., when they met for dinner, followed by an evening of fun and fellowship at the First United Methodist church, McHenry. A previous theater party was so successful another one has been scheduled for Sunday, April 25, for the matinee at the Woodstock Opera House, to see "Ar­ senic and Old Lace"- Twenty-five tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Reservations are to be made promptly with Virginia Marshall at 385-7349, after 6:30 p.m. When the 25 tickets are sold, anyone else wanting to at­ tend will have to get tickets at the opera house. At the next meeting, arrangements can be made for a time and place to meet for those who want to eat together before going to the play, and also rides for those needing transportation. On April 19, the group will meet for dinner at 5:30 p.m. at the China Light restaurant, 1266 Green street, (corner of Elm and Green streets) and then proceed to the church to socialize.
