Some good news for the citizens of McHenry waa discovered when the announcement was made that the Hunter Boat Co. haa Just received an order from the U.S. Army to manufacture several hundred boats. Two army officers, a major and a first lieutenant, were recent visitors here, at which time, they interviewed the fire chief, checking on fire protection and all the qualifications. The manufacture of the boats will be on an assembly line basis, giving the utmost in speed. Mr. Everet Hunter states that ne hopea to be in full production in June, or as soon as the necessary changes can be made. Stark tragedy invaded a peaceful city last night when Mrs. Leonard Franzen was instantly killed when she was struck by a car in front of the Buss Motor Sales in West McHenry. Those rollicking Shamrocks from out Irish Prairie way, travelled to Crystal Lake and won a 5 to 4 contest. Jim Larkin, on the Shamrock firing line, limited the Boosters to seven hits. The meter company will make the entire installation at a gost of $65 60 per unit production in McHenry county. The camp, owned and operated by the Sybaquay Girl Scout council, offers a fun-filled program for girls. Pokonokah Hills is located in nor­ thwestern Wisconsin. Shimming, canoeing, sailing, arts and crafts, hiking and nature study are but a few of the exciting program op­ portunities. Junior high arid high school girls can register for specialized programs such as an extended boundary waters canoe trip, bicycle trip, counselor-in- training program and primitive camping unit.
