Photography by Gaylord Openin night, A service of confirmation was held Sunday at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church, 404 North Green street, McHenry, for the 26 members of the Senior confirmation class. The service served as the climax to two years of instruction. During the seventh and eighth grade the class members studied the Ten Commandments, the Apostles Creed, the Lord's prayer, the Sacrament of Holy Baptism, and the Sacrament of the Altar. They also received an overview of both the Old and New Testament. During the service of confirmation, each member of the class knelt before the altar to receive the confirmation blessing from Pastor Roger Schneider Following the service, the members of the confirmation class stood in a receiving line at the door of the church to be greeted by the congregation. The eighth grade students will now join the "Senior Special" discussion group for teenagers Sunday morning at the church. They will also par ticipate in all the Senior Luther league activities and discussions provided by the youth group at the church. Participating as teachers for both seventh and eighth grade con firmation classes are Beverly Blundell, Fran Weyland, Carol Krodel, Gloria Mack, Ron Kot, and Pastor Schneider.
