Annie Glidden, Apt. 306, De Kalb, III when they return from a honeymoon which was planned as a surprise for the bride from her new husband. The bride Is the former Kathy Michalski, daughter of Ted and Darlene Michalski, 521 Northgate, Lindenhurst, 111. The bridegroom is the son of Don and Barbara Dixon, 4612 N. William street, McHenry. , The couple exchanged promises of marriage June 5, before an altar decorated with floral arrangements, and Father Matt Rauen celebrated the 3 p.m. nuptials in St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Johnsburg. The bride wore a traditional white gown, fashioned of lace and chiffon, featuring a high neckline, long sleeves embellished with lace, and an A-line skirt. Serving as maid of honor was Cathy Durkin of Lake Villa. Bridesmaids were a cousin, Tami Barrens of Chicago; Janet Bakula of Lin­ denhurst; Cindy Tonyan of McHenry; Breck Dixon of McHenry; and Kelly Hassett of Wauwatosa, Wis. Jennie Swikle of McHenry was the flower girl. The bridesmaids were attired in sky blue dresses, complemented with lace jackets, and the maid of honor was similarly attired in light yellow. The flower girl wore a long, white lace dress. Yellow and sky blue silk flowers adorned their hair. They wore light blue tuxedos with white shirts trimmed in light blue. The mother of the bride chose a light blue chiffon, floor length gown, with long sleeves. Following the ceremony, 200 friends and relatives toasted the newlyweds at Cabriolet restaurant, LibertyviUe, III. In the Fall of 1962, the new Mrs. Dixon will be a junior at Northern Illinois university, where she is majoring in Elementary Education. Miller-Marvin Honeymoon In The Beautiful Bahama Islands A wedding trip to Florida, which included a cruise to the beautiful Bahama Islands was in the honeymoon plans of newly married Mr. and Mrs. Timothy S. Marvin, and upon their return, they will reside in McHenry. The bride is the former Sandra L. Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Miller, 3303 W. 3rd avenue, McHenry Mr. Edward Marvin, 1541A 3rd street, Hampton, Va. and Mrs. Nancy Marvin, 3334Vfe W. Elm, McHenry, are the parents of the bridegroom. The couple was united in marriage June 5, during a 2 p.m. ceremony officiated by the Rev. Roger Schneider, in a setting of assorted apricot and white flowers, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church, McHenry. Special music included "Color My World", "Ave Maria", "For All We Know", and the "Wedding Song", performed by soloist, Terri Huck. The bride wore a gown of organza, bodice and sleeves trimmed' appliqu >d with The knife-pleated wiae 1 lued lace and ruffled at the wrist. skirt was adorned with a wide lace ruffle at the hemline. A blusher and waist length veil was secured to her hat, whicn was accented with a white silk rose insert. She carried a lace fan bearing white silk roses, stephanotis, baby's breath and small ^apricot flowers, graced with ivy. In keeping with the sentimentality of the occasion, she was wearing an engagement ring her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Jacob P. Diedrich, received in 1912; the handkerchief her mother carried on her own wedding day, Sept. 27,1952; a Christmas gift of pearls from the groom; and a sixpence in her shoe for luck, from Teri Karsten of McHenry. The maid of honor was a sister of the groom, Sandra Marvin of Hampton, Va. Bridesmaids were Lisa Ritter and Mary Lange, both of McHenry. / Attendants wore long white, spaghetti strapped dresses with small apricot flowers and a ruffle at the hemline, beneath matching jackets, y They carried nosegays of apricot and white daisies, pale yeflow roses, baby's breath and greenery. Two white and one apricot rose graced their hair, and a locket, a gift from the bride, completed the look. A two-year-old niece and godchild of the bride, Rebecca Lynn of McHenry, was the flower girl. She wore a short dress of white eyelet, trimmed in apricot; a matching locket; and carried a basket of apricot and white flowers and petals. Her hair was adorned with one white and two apricot roses and baby's breath. . The best man was the groom's brother, Russell Marvin of Hampton, Va. Groomsmen were James Miller of McHenry, the bride's brother, and a friend, Paul Lehr of Island Lake. Another brother of the groom, Robert Marvin of Hampton was the usher. They wore beige and brown tuxedos with apricot shirts and the bridegroom was in a white tuxedo with an apricot rose. The mother of the bride chose a floor length, sea green dress with a pleated skirt and a corsage of roses and carnations on her wrist. The groom's mother was similarly attired, with a white corsage of roses and carnations. His step-mother wore a floor length, blue dress with matching corsage. Following the ceremony.' a reception was held at the Johnsburg Community club for 200 guests. A special guest was the bride s paternal grandmother, Mrs. Joseph Miller of Johnsburg. The bride graduated from McHenry Community nigh school in 1978; was a part-time student at McHenry County college; attended modeling school in Chicago in 1961; and is a G.A.A. for Connecticut General Life Insurance Co. of Chicago. The groom is a graduate of Tabb high in Virginia; he , also attended McHenry County college; and is a lab technician at Lenco Electronics of McHenry. The rehearsal dinner was held at the Village Squire. Hold Pageant For Handicapped The second annual "Because You're Special" pageant will be held starting at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 13, at John Evans Inn, Crystal Lake The pageant recognizes handicapped young people from throughout McHenry county The event is sponsored by the Windsong Family Teen club, which has been dedicated to making life more pleasant for the handicapped for several years Dinner will be served, and reser­ vations may 1t>e made by calling 385- 6565 However, there is no charge for <he pageant, and interested persons are urged to be present and give encouragement to the young folks as i hey participate using the theme, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". A Chicago cabaret entertainer, Math Pimperl, will emcee the program and winners will appear in the Fiesta Days parade.
