Green street, McHenry, provided a setting for the congregation to get acquainted with some new members New members were introduced to the congregation and then received a certificate of church membership from Pastor Roger Schneider. Following worship, the new members stood in a receiving line to be greeted by the congregation. A coffee hour honoring the new members received Sunday, as well as sixteen other families who recently joined the church, was held im­ mediately after worship and was sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Lavem Roepke and Mrs. and Mrs. Henry Kot. Received into the fellowship of the church Sunday were Steve C. Drake, Carol Drake, Melissa Drake and Steven Drake; Ray Templeman and Irma Templeman; and Robert Hughes, Janice Hughes, Kathleen Lynn Hughes, and Laura Michelle Hughes June 14 Open Summer Bible School On Monday, June 14, at 9 a.m., Zion Lutheran church will open ita doors to the children of the church and the community with a new Vacation Bible school program. The new program, called "The Lord Is My Shepherd (My Creator Cares For Me)" includes games, puzzles, songs. Bible stories and take- home projects as part of each days activities for children from nursery age (4-year-old) through Junior high (8th grade). Woodward, son of Harold L. and Avnis M Woodwardr of 2917 Virginia, McHenry, recently deployed to the Philippines for two weeks of active duty training. He is a member of Patrol Squadron 60, based at Naval Air Station, Glen view. During the deployment, his squadron conducted anti-submarine warfare training.
