More than 100 con testants participated. The longest throw by a man was 107 feet 5 inches. Top- woman thrower was Tammy Sward, who tossed the boot a distance of 60 feet 11 inches to claim the championship. Money collected at the competition will be donated to the fireworks fund. Because of the accuracy factor in measuring each throw, the contest was enjoyed by everyone. There was no big advantage in just being strong; the winners were of average size and build. • Winners were awarded a boot gilt certificate.
