You'll find a variety of attractions that range from entertainment to educational exhibits. You'll enjoy some of the finest livestock exhibits to be found at any fair in the Midwest. The fair is made possible by the cooperation of a great many volunteers who work nearly year-round to assure a thoughtfully planned fair. The fair provides a showcase for 4-H boys and girls where they can compare their project preparations and efforts with others. The McHenry County Fair Association encourages competition in Junior and Open Class with well-organized shows and attractive prizes. Many businesses, industries and local communities cooperate to help make the fair truly a countywide event. They provide funds for awards, sponsor exhibits, and boost the fair with their participation. Local communities add to the fair's interest with their sponsorship of candidates in the Miss McHenry County Pageant. We have extensive free parking on the grounds, fine security provided by the McHenry County Sheriff's Department and Woodstock police, and courteous gatekeepers provided by members of the Pomona Grange.
