The 1960s version is different: A young girl follows the yellow brick road from Kokomo to Stardom. The Dorothy of the '80s is of course, Sylvia, and hers is s story dreams are made of. At 24, Sylvia has launched a singing career that ranks high on the charts. Leav­ ing Kokomo, Ind., after high school, Sylvia knew exactly what she wanted and how she was going to get it She knocked on doors and eventually landed a part-time secretarial job with record producer Tom Collins.
