Low Net in Class A was 71 shot by Betty Mohan while Kspar Oja putted like crazy, using only 26 for the 18 holes. An eagle eye and steady hand had her rolling in 13 one-putts. In Class B low net over the entire field was an amazing 62 shot by Carole Barnicle who was later seen walking a couple inches off the floor with hap piness. In the same class Eunice Hatch did some very respectable putting to roll in 30 for the round In Class C another lowest-I've-ever- shot score gave low net of 70 to Gladys Warfleld who tied wtih Fran Herr mann for low putts of 33 in that class And, In Class D another very low net of M was shot by Jackie Victor while Jane O'Connell had low putts of 31. While Betty Rode was moaning over earning the title of Sandy of the Week a number of goodies were reported. Eunice Hatch executived a chip-in to hold par on No. 13 and Sue Martin did the same on No. 16. Ever so many birdies flew up this week. Eunice Hatch, Caroline Harger, Neil Fidler, Jo Ready and Carol Cooney all birdied No. 14 while Letty Busscher birdied No. II, Betty Mohan birdied No. 16 and Carol Cooney birdied Nos. 12 and 16. Last week Fran Weyland birdied No. 14 and forgot to mention it. Tight shoes or too much dancing may have been the reaaon Patti Smith was seen hopping around with one shoe off, one shoe on. No precise reaaon was given but she did manage to finiah the round. - Taking all nine points from Brae Loch in their final match of the season, the travelling team emerged the winners of the Northern Division in the Inter-suburban Golf league. Details and a summary of the season will be forthcoming in a subsequent report and surely makes for Happy Golfing! I.ii Chapel Hill Fox Hole Pizza won the team contest for low groas in the Tuesday Indies league, which was played on July 20 The current team standings are Mar Ray Costumes 594, Little Chef 584, Christie Group 53, McHenry Floral 51, Top Dec 504, Kathy's 484, Fox Hole Pizza 44 and Nowak Con struction 35 On July 26, the Tuesday Ladies played under the lowest of cloud ceilings. The greens were not even visable on the shortest holes at 8:00 a m. There were two chip-ins reported, Judy Schmitt on No. 4 and Corky Weber on No. 9. They must have found the hole with radar. We are very proud of our Chapel Hill Ladies Traveling league for winning first place on Killinger- Fassett Day at Fox Lake Country club There were eight teams entered, so this was no mean achievement. Special kudos to Nancy McAuliffe who carded an 89 gross at this event. Keep up the good golf girls. Esta Golf Invit. With a slight mist falling from downcast skies, the former McHenry H.S. cross country star and current Crystal Lake South H.S. coach ran stride for stride with Mike Cook of Hoffman Estates until nearing the five mile marker when Mclnerney passed him for good and finished with a strong kick. "The cooler conditions were definitely better than last year's hot sun," said Mclnerney who shaved more than two minutes off from his 1961 time. Cook finished a close second in the race^with a 35:28 clocking and Don Fredericks of McHenry was third with a time of 36:38. All three finishers were in the men's 18-24 year old age bracket. The younger runners finished at the Johnsburg Rescue Squad building, almost at the point where Mclnerney made his move to pass Cook.
