Hogs, sheep and cattle shown by fair exhibitors go on the auction Mock . starting promptly at noon, Saturday, Aug. 7. * A special feature thia year is "sale > of champions" at 1:90 p.m. The b regular auction will be interrupted to sell the following champions: duck, gooae, turkey, chicken, pen of rabbits, lambe, steers and hogs. "It's a good chance to fill your freeaer with quality meat and at the same time help young people with their 4-H project," says Lloyd Get- zelman, chairman of the fair's Livestock Auction committee. Last year the auction netted $113,000, and this money paid to 4-H and FFA boys and girls enabled them to pay for their 1961 expenses, have money to buy their IMS projects, and to help to go school or expand their farming interests. A buyers' sppreciation picnic is .planned Wednesday, Aug>;.,U ,at Building D, with a hog roast served 6 to 7 p.m. Buyers snd their families are invited to attend this free picnic. Dole Crush­ ed Pineapple in Syrup 'A cup sugar 5 tbsp. cornstarch 'A tsp.salt,optional 2 cups milk 4 egg yolks 1 cup coarsely chopped raisins 2 tsp. vanilla extract I (9-inch) baked pie shell " 1 cup whipping cream, whipped Drain pineapple well, pres­ sing out at least I cup syrup. Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Heat milk until just hot; cover, remove from heat. Beat egg yolks 2 minutes. Slowly add sugar mixture. Continue to beat until thick enough to fall in a ribbon when beater is lifted from bowl. Continue beating; add milk until blended. Pour back into saucepan. Cook until mixture is thick. Do not boil. Remove from heat. Add pineapple, raisins and vanil­ la. Pour into pic shell. Cool to room temperature. Re­ frigerate at least 2 hours or until firm. When ready to serve, spoon whipped cream over pie.
