It was pure white English net over taffeta: imported Alencon lace appliques sculpt the bodice, enhancing a dropped waistline; delicate Schiffli embroidery traced a sweetheart neckline and was accented by off-the-shoulder puffed satin sleeves; all lavished with'tiny seed pearls and sequins. The skirt was a soft reverie of English net, scattered with Alencon appliques; graced at the hemline with Schiffli lace embroidery points, sweeping into a wide chapel length train. In her hair, a veil ofowhite silk illusion fell softly to her shoulders from a bandeau of layers upon layers of Alencon lace petals and tiny pearls. River McHenry American Legion Auxiliary The joint installation of the American Legion Poet No. 491 and American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 491 was held Sunday, Aug. 8, at the McHenry American Legion Post home About 100 people were in a tendance as Robert Chovanec was installed as comander by James Chesler, Sr., past commander of the McHenry poet. Installing chaplain was John Rourke and installing sergeant-at-arms was Edward Mass. Installed with Chovanec were Tom Wade, senior vice-commander , Ray Thoma, junior vice-commander; Lou Schroeder, finance officer; Robert Honeyman, adjutant; Henry Rabn, chaplain; Bernie Matchen, historian; Jim Hermle, sergeant-at-arms; and Dave Hansen, assistant sergeant-at- arms.
