The bride Is the dsughter of Mrs. Pstricia Ann Sahs, 804 Roosevelt, Woodstock. The bridegroom, Dennis James Useman, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hawkins, 2400 W. Country lane, McHenry. Father Schott and Father Gaynor officiated at the 2:90 p.m. ceremony and appropriate music included "Wedding Song, processional; "Follow Me", recessional; "Lord's Prayer", communion; "Landslide"; and "Rose", offertory. A cousin of the bride, Sue Msther, accompanied herself on the guitar as she sang "In My Life" diving the lighting of the candle rite. The bride wore a white sift organza gown highlighted with Venice and Schiffli lace on the bodice and hemline. The skirt was enhanced with a pleated flounce and her gauntlets were of Venice and Schiffli lace. For 'something borrowed' she wore hsr sister's cathedral length veil, trim­ med with Chantilly lace. She carried a cascade bouquet pf white roses, carnations, statice, assorted chrysanthemums, baby's breath and greenery. Kim Johnson of Wonder Lake at' tended her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sandra French of Woodstock, a friend of the bride; friends of the couple, Donna Lim- baugh and Amy Rowe, both of Woodstock; and a sister of the groom, Mary Hawkins of McHenry. Attendants were attired in laven­ der, shadow stripe, with tiny floral print, qiana dresses with matching jackets. They carried summer bouquets of shades of lavender, white and pink asters, roses, chrysan­ themums, statice, sporum, ivy and baby's breath. Following a reception for 200 friends and relatives at the McHenry County Fairgrounds, Exhibit Hall D, Woodstock, the newlyweds left for a one-week honeymoon in French Lick Springs, French Lick, Ind. Upon their return they will reside at 1004 N. Front street, McHenry. The bride received an associate degree in Data Proceasing from McHenry County college and is presently s computer programmer for Ombundsman Educational Ser­ vices, Ubertyville, 111. The groom attended Western and Northern Illinois universities and is employed as a manager at Tinder Box Tobacco Shop, Dundee, 111. Special guests at the reception were Mr. and Mrs. Ward O'Brien of McHenry, the groom's grandparents; Mrs. Lydia Crone of Florida, the bride's grandmother; and Lucy Hawkins of California, a sister of the groom. All flowers for the wedding were created by the bride's aunt, Gloria Mather. Family Nuptial Keepsakes Add \ Nostalgia To Freund Wedding Karen Huebner of McHenry and Donald Freund of Wonder Lake exchanged nuptial vows Saturday, Aug. 21, at 1 o'clock in the afternoon In The Church of St. Mary of the Assumption, McHenry. Father Edward Schott officiated at the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of John and Valerie Grant of 1712 W. King wood road, McHenry and Don and Jean Huebner of Morton Grove. 111. Her husband, is the son of Leonard and Leoda Freund of 3602 N. Richmond road, McHenry. Garden flowers in rainbow shades decorated the altar, and there was a bouquet of ivory roses on the Mary altar. The ceremony included the bride and groom reciting a prayer, Journey Through Marriage". Special music was provided by Sue Van Kanegan, a friend of the bride, accompanied by Lonnie Reitz. Miss Huebner selected a floor length gown in ivory satin, featuring puffed, off-the-shoulder, shirred sleeves. Alencon lace frosted the bodice and tiny seed pearls enhanced the lace. The slightly gathered A-line skirt fell into a full chapel sweep. Her cathedral length, illusion veil was held in place with satin shirring similar to that on the shoulders of the gown. She carried a cascade of ivory roses, stephanotis and ivy. Gail Huebner of McHenry acted as maid of honor for her sister. Other attendants were Charlette Freund, sister of the groom, of McHenry; Darlene Huebner of Phoenix, Ariz., sister-in-law of the bride; Jody Butler of Wonder Lake, Geriann DAngelo, and Karen Swantz of McHenry and Karen Tedesco of Chicago, all friends of the bride. The flower girl was Terin Brodin of Wonder Lake, the daughter of a friend. S1 < The adult attendants were attired in pastel colored gowns of shrimp, yellow, apricot, pink, orchid, seafoam green and sky blue, while Terin wore ivory. The gowns of the maid of honor and bridesmaids were styled with sweetheart neckline, off-the-shoulder, puffed, chiffon sleeves with ruffled shirring The waist was enchanced with a chiffon rose and satin belt. They wore halos of flowers to match their gowns. The flower girl's halo was of rainbow colors, made by the bride. The bridesmaids had sprays of long stem, ivory roses tied with ivory lace ribbons. The flower girl carried a miniature spray. John L. Freund of Marengo served his brother as best man. The oomsmen were Ron Freund of cHenry, a brother; Bruce HuebncK of Lake Villa, brother of the bride? Brian Huebner of Phoenix, Ariz., 0 brother; Gordon B rod hi, Tom Butlea of Wonder Lake, and Ken Domin of Rockford, friends. They were attired in wheat-colored tuxedos, while the ring bearer, John M. Freund of Marengo, the groom's godson and nephew, wore ivory. The ring pHlow was heart shape, in ivory satin, trimmed with ivory lace. It was made by the maternal grandmother for the bride's mother's wedding over 30 years ago. The bride's mother chose a chiffon, floor length gown, double layer in sea spray color. It was handpainted in violet, with tiny sequins outlining the petals. Mrs. Freund wore a coral, A- line, floor length gown with rhinestones and seed pearls at the neckline and cuffs. Both had wrist corsages of gardenia, ivory roses and stephanotis. Later ii. the day, dinner was served to 240 guests at Chapel Hill Country club. On top of the wedding cake, under an arch in rainbow colors to match the bridesmaids, and decorated with crystal bells, stood a miniature bride and groom belonging to the maternal grandmother, which had been repainted to resemble the bride and groom. Other adornments included a gold key of happiness and shoes with white doves: mementos taken from the grandmother's cake 53 years ago. The bride graduated from McHenry Community nigh school in 1978 and is a student at Northern Illinois university, majoring in Special Education. The groom graduated from the same high school in 1977 and is employed by Walter Hallen Burial Vault Co. The newlyweds are making their home at 7011 Hancock drive, Wonder Lake. music for the occasion included "Wedding Song" and "Ave Maria". The bride is the former Charlene Behan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael F. Behan, Sr., 81S Florence street, McHenry. Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. Gaylord, 1518 W. Channel Beach avenue, McHenry, are the parents of the bridegroom. The bride wore a floor length gown of white silk organza, enhanced with Chantilly lace over bridal mist taffeta. The bodice was fashioned with a Queen Anne neckline and long, full, Juliet sleeves. The skirt was semi-bouffant with ruffles in front and a Chapel length train. An imported illusion scalloped edge veil was secured to her matching lace cap. Debbie Morlev attended her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kathy Long, Carol Latz and Rene Bellon, all of McHenry; the groom's sister Donna Jordon; and a cousin of the bride, Colleen Butler of New York. Bridesmaids were Attired in apricot floor length dresses, styled with a semi-flare skirt and draped bodice and sleeves. The matron of honor was similarly attired in a melon colored dress. The best man was Dave Mauer. Groomsmen were Mike Behan. a brother of the bride; A1 Jordan, brother-in-law of the groom; Robert Behan, uncle of the bride; Gary Morley, brother-in-law of the bride; and Mark Fluger. Grandmother's Locket And Ring From Groom Worn At Nuptials As Debra Louise Piener approached the altar of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church, McHenry, Aug. 21, to exchange promises of marriage with Roger Alan Engel, her ensemble was enhanced with her grandmother's baby locket ; and a ruby and diamond ring from her future husband. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pieper, 1200 W. May avenue, McHenry. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Engel, Route 3, Reedsburg, Wis., are the parents of the bridegroom. The Reverend Roger Schneider and Father Leo Bartel performed the 2 p.m. ceremony before an altar decorated with white lilies and roses, light pink forget-me-nots; rose and burgundy eucalyptus and oak leaves. Special music included "Endless Love" and "There Is Love". The bride wore a floor length gown of white organza. The fitted bodice was embellished with Chantilly lace on the high, stand-up collar and cuffs of the long Bishop sleeves. The A-line „ skirt flowed into a chapel length train, bordered in a ruffle of Chantilly lace. Her bridal hat was made to match, with Chantilly lace and bouffant veiling. To complete the look, she carried a cascade of white silk roses, stephanotis and baby's breath, ac­ cented with suede rose forget-me-nots and lilies with ivy. The bride's sister, Kim Pieper of McHenry, was her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were a friend of the bride, Laurie Krueger and the groom's sister. Sue Ekstrom, both of Hampshire, IU.; and a cousin of the bride, Deniae Bingham of Brook, Ind. Attendants were gowned in floor length creations of suede roee knit. The bodices featured yokee of English net and were framed in ruffles of Chantilly lace. The swirl skirts were of crystal pleats. They carried matching parasols, trimmed with lace and suede rose lilies; and bouquets of matching suede roses, light pink lilies and burgundy baby's breath. Their hair was adorned with suede rose baby's breath. The flower girl was a friend of the groom, Sarah Hawkins of Elgin, 111. She wore a dress similar to the bridesmaids and carried a white lace basket of suede roee baby's breath and roses. The duties of best man were han­ dled by a friend of the groom, Dan Krueger of Hampshire. Groomsmen were the bride's brother, Tom Pieper of McHenry; friends of the groom, Tom Swanson of Maple Park, 111. and Tim Richter of Hampshire. The ring bearer was a nephew of the groom, Barry Engel of Reedsburg, Wis Friends of the groom, Brad Lenschow of Hampshire and Dana Christensen of Urbana, 111. served as ushers." The mother of the bride chose a floor length gown of Daphne roee, styled with spaghetti straps and a full, pleated skirt. The removable jacket was of georgette chiffon, trimmed with lace at the neck and cuffs. A floor length, pale pink chiffon gown, highlighted with tiny seed pearls at the neckline and empire waist, was the choice of the mother of the groom. Following the nuptials, a reception for 350 guests was held at the John- sburg Community club. When they return from a honeymoon in the Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania, Mr. and Mrs. Engel's mailing atkk-eas will be Route 1, Box 379, Reedsburg, Wis., where the groom will pursue the occupation of farming.
