Sometime between 8 p.m. Thur sday, Sept. 2 and 2 p.m. Friday the third, some one wqth an extra can of grey oil paint, vdfi^Jed to throw it at both the north aruTsouth side murals, destroying the artistry of the scouts. The reason for this destruction is beyond comprehension. Something of beauty and value is done, and a stupid, ignorant person haVto ruin it. To add insult to injury, additional pink paint was thrown on the mural sometime during the Labor Day weekend. Librarian Margaret Karas has Visions of the person or persons who did this falling into a large bucket of grey oil paint. She would even be willing to add some feathers. Several youngsters, including Charlie Hibbs and Joe Gonzalez, want to help in the restoration. Other members of the community expressed their dismay and disbelief.
