Rules Of Road * Review Course The next session of the "Rules of the Road" review course, sponsored by the McHenry Senior Citizens club will be held Sept. 30 at 9:30 a.m. (for eye tests) to noon. The second and third sessions will be Oct. 7 and Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon. State requirements are that all three classes be attended. They will all be held at the McHenry City Hall. Jansen of McHenry., Plan "Home For The Holidays 99 Christ the King Catholic church, Wonder Lake, was the setting for the Sept. 11, 2 p.m. nuptials, uniting in marriage the former Deborah Ann Wenk and Jeffrey Brian Hunt. The bride is the daughter of Ronald J. and Ann M. Wenk, 7711 Orchard road, Wonder Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Hunt, 7304 Hiawatha drive, Wonder Lake, are the parents of the bridegroom. The wedding ceremonv was performed by the Reverend D. E. Tranel, and appropriate musical selections included "Wedding Song", "And I Love You So" and "Ave Maria". A bouquet of red silk roses was placed at the altar of the Blessed Virgin Mary. "Hie bride wore a white Victorian period gown, styled with a high neckline and sheer illusion bodice of Schiffli lace. The A-line skirt was enhanced with a flounce, trimmed with reembroidered Chantilly lace, sweeping into a chapel length train. Lace gauntlets completed the Victorian took. The maid of honor was attired in a two-tone baby blue and white lustre glow gown, accented with a-side slit and complemented with a white lace embroidered chiffon jacket. Bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids were similarly attired in two-tone navy blue and white. The flower girls wore baby blue dotted swiss gowns with puffed sleeves and three ruffles edging the hemline of the skirl. The yolk was adorned with blue and white embroidered flowers. William J. Hunt of Wonder Lake handled the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Ronald J. and Phillip J. Wenk, both of Wonder Lake; Gary Hunt of Bartlett, 111. and Keith Hunt of Hanover Park,"111. Jim Letiza of McHenry and Jack McMillan of Wonder Lake served as ushers. Jeffrey Leveto of Addison, 111. was the ring bearer. The groom and ring bearer were in all white Dorchester tuxedos with tails, wing-tipped shirts and bow ties. Before they left for a wedding trip, traveling down the east coast to Florida, the newly weds were feted at a reception held in Changes Lounge, for 300 guests. Upon their return, the couple will reside in their newly purchased home at 7714 Pheasant road, Wonder Lake. The bride graduated from McHenry Community high school in 1978 and has been a secretary for Mike Andiy Insurance the past four and a half years. The groom, a 1976 graduate of Marian Central Catholic high school, is employed in sales at Farm & Fleet. Feature Band At Family Service 22nd Dinner-Dance A popular band will entertain at the Family Service & Community Mental Health Center for McHenry County annual dinner. Scheduled for Sept. 25, at 7:30 p.m. at the Crystal Lake Country club, it is the twenty-second annual dinner sponsored by the center. - Other highlights of the evening include the Community Service award and Staff Service award presen­ tations. Highlights of the day will be, of course, the presentation of beautiful fashions. Jill Olszewski of McHenry and "Tj" Braun of Crystal Lake, have been working for several weeks with iho <>»/.!»-.•- :u;-'z cum they promise those attending a lovely preview of elegant Fall and Winter, holiday and resort wear, including designer clothes and furs. The boutique will open at 10 a.m. in i he music room of Turnberry and will be somewhat different this year. Co- chairmen, Bonnie Dean, Nancy Emigholz and Nanci McKeown have announced that the holiday boutique will consist mainly of several hundred Christmas ornaments and tree decorations, some of which are unique in character and design. In addition, for the first time, the boutique will offer for sale over 70 hand-crafted items donated by participating Fair Diddley artisans, inducting a small quilt, signed art work, wooden ac­ cessories, and small stuffed toys. Each guest attending "Home for the Holidays" will receive a copy of the recipe collection as a gift. The Reverend Thomas Lowery officiated at the 4:30 p.m. candlelight ceremony, Sept. 11, and the setting was enhanced with garnishes of lemon leaves, greens and ivory bows on the ends of the pews. Fitting background music was provided by guitarist and soloist, Roger Schiller and organist, Mona Bitterman. Candles for the occasion were lit by Tracy Prazak and Allen Bitterman of McHenry, cousins of the bride. Church Sponsors Spaghetti Dinner Saturday, Sept. 18, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., the LCW of Nativity Lutheran church will be serving its third annual Spaghetti Dinner, featuring a delicious menu that will tempt everyone. There will also be a Country Store which includes bakery items, crafts, plants and other items. The church is located at 3506 E. Wonder Lake road, in Wonder Lake. A wedding trip to Europe was in the honeymoon plans of newly married Mr. and Mrs. Greg Bartos. Flying from the United States to Paris, France, the couple's itinerary also included a visit to Nice; Monaco; Florence, Italy; Salzburg, Austria; and Munich, Germany for the Octoberfest celebrations. The bride is the former Kari Rowe, daughter erf Herbert and Shirley Rowe, 604 N. John street, McHenry. Frank and Arlene Bartos of McHenry are the parents of the bridegroom. Father Stringini officiated at the 2:30 p.m. ceremopy, Saturday, Sept. 11, in St. Patrick Catholic church, McHenry. Special music included Stevie Wonder compositions, "As", sung by Ed Lescher and "You And I", sung by the groom's brother, Mark Bartos. The bride was gowned in % traditional white creation, featuring a bodice of reembroidered lace, highlighted with pearls. The skirt was fashioned of organza and taffeta. A chapel length train of organza flowed from her picture hat, embellished with pearls and lace. Donna Rowe of McHenry served her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the groom's sister, Jill Bartos; OAK.PARK HOTEL & LOUNGE the bridt s sister-in-law, Diane Rowe; and friends of the bride, Paula Gehrke and Bonnie Bjorkman, all of McHenry; and the bride's cousin, Joanne Beierle of Norridge, 111. The flower girl was Susan Beierle, a cousin of the bride. Attendants were all in coral qiana gowns and the flower girl wore a white, floor length dress banded at the waist with a coral sash. Handling the duties of best man was the groom's brother, Mark Bartos of Chicago. Groomsmen were the bride's brother, Bill; Rowe and friends, Broc Olson,--Edwin C. Wittrock, Mike Kotiw and Len Gehrke, all of McHenry. They wore charcoal grey cutaway tuxedos. The groom wore a white tuxedo with tails. The mother of the bride chose a floor length gown of ivory qiana, accented with a matching lace jacket. A floor length gown of silver grey qiana was the choice of the groom's mother. A reception for 210 friends and relatives was held at Al-Kayas Hong Chow, Island Lake. Out-of-town guests included the bride's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. James DiLenge of Boca Raton, Fla. and the groom's cousin, Mirek Planeta of Canada. The new Mrs. Bartos graduated from McHenry Community high school in 1971 and is a hairdresser in Barrington, 111. Her husband, a 1972 aduate of Marian Central Catholic ..igh school, Woodstock, is an employee of Dura Wax, McHenry. Her hat of matching silk Venice lace, was caught up at the back with a pouf of moline and a cathedral mantilla. Appliqued pearls accented the crown of the hat and she wore a blusher of Russian veiling. The finishing touch was a pearl necklace, a gift from the groom. The maid of honor was the bride's cousin, Janet Bitterman of Wheaton, 111. Bridesmaids were friends of the bride, Sandee Peterson, Mary Wynveen and Linda Bucaro, all of McHenry; and Lori Fossum of Plaines, Ga. • Attendants were attired in gowns of shades of apricot, peach, spice, China frost, and copper, styled with a spaghetti strap bodice on a free sunburst pleated skirt. A sheer chiffon covering, with \ draped neckline gathered at the shoulders, created a waist-length cape. Flower girls were Debbie and Denise Zujewski of McHenry. They wore ivory dresses with a Victorian collar and ruffle trimmed, long sleeves. A friend of the groom, Mike Peterson of McHenry, was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom's brother, Darren Shay, the bride's brother, Bob Bittermann, and friends of the groom, Jack Bucaro and Brent Lane, all of McHenry. Ushers were a cousin of the groom, spurgeons flcHenry Grace was led by a close friend of the bride's family, former pastor of the First United Methodist church in McHenry, the Reverend Ralph Smith. Upon their return from a two-week trip through Wisconsin and Michigan, the couple will make their home in McHenry. The bride, a graduate of McHenry Community high school in 1978 and Don Roberts School of Co6motology, is a hairdresser at Hair Dimensions, McHenry. The groom graduated from the same high school in 1977 and is employed by McHenry Township Road District, McHenry.
