WONDER LAKE Anne Sowers Crew Starts Work On Dam Work has finally begun to make the necessary repairs on the dam. It has takea a couple of days to bring in all the necessary equipment, but now the coffer-dam will be built around the sluice gate on the east side of the dam When repair work is completed on the easKsitfe, the coffer dam will be removed. The crew will then proceed to the west side where the whole process will take place as it did on the east side. Frank Higgins told me that the boom on the crane is 71 feet tall, so this is no minor job. It should be an interesting process to follow. Some day, when an update is done on the history of Wonder Lake, I'm sure this event will fill some pages. Be sure to drive by and see what's going on. MPOA MEETING The annual Masters Property owners association convention was held Sunday, Sept. 12 at Nativity Lutheran church. With the largest tax ever having been levied by any taxing body to the Wonder Lake people, still 80 percent of the subdivisions were paid up in full before the day of the meeting, enabling thejn to have their delegates vote on anjrassue that came up. Communication is always a concern of the residents who would like to be better informed on the happenings of the MPOA. The idea of a newsletter to be sent out when the opportunity arises was discussed ana will be implemented. LEAVING WONDER LAKE Otto and Gretchen Pose will be leaving soon to take up residency in Florida after living in Wonder Lake for 20 years. They were honored at a surprise going away party Saturday, Sept. 18, in the home of A1 and Rita Graff. Several of their friends were on hand to wish them well, but to also let them know how much they will be missed. {jREENWOOD SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE There will be an open house at Greenwood school Sept. 30, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. This will give parents a chance to view art work that is on display throughout the building, see the classrooms, and visit with the teachers. The open house is sponsored by the CTO (Community Teachers Organization). Anyone from the community who would care to is invited to stop in even if they do not have children attending the school. SPECIAL DAYS I've experienced some very special moments lately seeing friends whom I hadn't seen for too many yeftnr * Sitting in the doctor's office one day, I looked up from a magazine to see Gary Cummings walk in. Gary graduated from Woodstock high school with the class of 1960. He was a very active Wonder Lake youth, taking part in many Highland Shores activities including the Co. 2 Fire Dept. He was also helpful in the formation of a model railroad club 653-9549 Name Temporary Off icers PAGE 19 - PLAINDEALER - WEDNESDAY. SEPTEMBER 22.1982 that was set up in the Mathews building on Hancock drive. Even though no longer a resident of Wonder Lake, he saicf he drove up and down some of the streets before his appointment just to reminisce. You always hear when you make a mistake but boy is it great when you get a telephone call or see someone in the grocery store and they tell you that they enjoy your column. That made my day recently when I met Mr. and Mrs. William Sheehan, whom I hadn't seen in years either. They let me infiltrate their family some 24 years ago and we have many fond memories to share. It's fun to step back in time once in awhile and remember those teen years and I hope my sons will have such fine friendships to remember when they get older. ™ BIRTHDAYS It will be a special day in the home of Bob and Martha Beaman, when their third grader, Anita, celebrates her birthdav Sept. 26.r One big candle will decorate the birthday cake of Kane Madison Click of Indian Ridge as he celebrates his first birthday Sept. 29.
