They were Scott street off Riverside drive, Orchard Beach to the first turn, and Maryville Heights off Lincoln road. Regner stated that the Road and Bridge tax was reduced about $60,000 this year. This came about by not using the state multiplier or equalizer. Next yeajf the township road tax will be reduced even more by not using the full assessed valuation. The road district tax is about 5 percent or less of the property tax. This includes road construction and all phases of road maintenance. The road district employs four men, with some extra for snow plowing. The was eliminated to gain sight distance. A high traffic count road, it will have no passing stripes and signs, and the proper speed Signs with street lights, where needed. Resurfacing in Ringwood was done from Ringwood road to Route 31, with lVfe inch Class I bituminous surface. Another two miles of resurfacing from Route 31 to Spring Grove road was done. This surface was also a Class I improvement. Regner stated that much resur facing was done in Pistakee Highlands. About 2Vfe miles of streets were resurfaced with 2-inch matt. This was a much needed im provement in a residential area. Clarence Regner, retiring McHenry township highway commissioner, announced the township had a banner year in road construction, major maintenance, and drainage problems were corrected. One of the larger projects was Eastwood manor. Their drainage was improved by replacing many of the small culverts with a larger size. All the A-3 surfaces were resurfaced with double matt of B-5 blacktop and shoulder gravel was added to all resurfaced streets when needed. Regner stated another im provement of two miles of roadway resurfacing was Rolling lane and Pitzen road.
