CURRAN UNITED IN GARDEN WEDDING - A garden wedding August 28 at the home of the groom joined together Susan Bolton of Island Lake and Patrick M. Curran of Wonder Lake. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Y. Bolton of Island Lake and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Curran, Sr. of Wonder Lake. Pastor Olson officiated at the ceremony. The couple will reside in Wonder Lake. \ . , « I • > f > i MR. AND MRS. JOSEPH HUEMANN HAWAIIAN HONEYMOON -- A Hawaiian honeymoon was planned by newly married Mr. and Mrs. Joseph James Huemann. The bride is the former Katharine Ann Mack, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Mack, Jr. of Cary, 111. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas H. Huemann of Johnsburg, McHenry, are the parents of the bridegroom. Father Andrew Pleasa presided at the 3 p.m. exchange of wedding vows in Sts. Peter and Paul church, Cary, on Aug. 14. Following the nuptials, 250-300 guests attended a reception at the Johnsburg Community club. The bride graduated from Cary-Grove high school in 1978; and received a B.S. in Physical Education from Southern Illinois university in 1962. The groom graduated from Marian Central high school in 1978; attended McHenry County college two and a half years and is presently employed by Huemann Water Management, Inc., Johnsburg. The couple was married Saturday, Oct. 23, at the First United Methodist church, Crystal Lake, at 4 p.m. by Rev. Wykle and Rev. Carlson. Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Spengel of McHenry are parents of the bride and the parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Rossman of Crystal Lake. Church decorations included a cascade of flowers on the piano and an altar arrangement of burgundy and white flowers. Hie brother of the bride, Craig Spengel, sang the "Wedding Song", "Whereever You Go" and the "Prayer of Saint Fran­ cis." The bride's dress was fashioned with a sweetheart neckline, lace bodice, full sleeves of lace and chiffon, flowing chiffon train trimmed in crystal pleated chiffon and lace. The scalloped fingertip veil was held in place by a lace and pearl headpiece. She carried a cascade of white phylinopsis orchids and greens with baby's breath. b . 4 Kimberly Spengel, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Pam Patterson, Ingleside, sister of the bride, Connie Sexton, Crystal Lake, and Peggy Rossman, sister of the bridegroom, and Kimber Nichols, Hebron, friend of the bride The attendants wore burgundy gowns with high neck, lace cape and top, with an accordion pleated skirt. Traditional Wedding For Wisconsin Couple They carried white lace fans with an arrangement of white carnations, burgundy roses and baby's breath with matching flowers in their hair. Serving the bridegroom were Brad Beebe, Kansas City, Mo., as best man. Groomsmen were Richard Sexton, Crystal Lake, brother-in-law of the groom, Scott Spengel, brother of the bride, McHenry, Randy Beck and Duane Dritlein, Crystal Lake, friends of the groom. Ushers were Keith Spengel, brother of the bride. McHenry, and Larry Roewer and Jeff Layer, Crystal Lake. The gentlemen wore black tuxedos with white pleated shirts. The bride's mother wore a silk screened mauve colored full length gown, with philynopsis orchid wrist corsage. The groom's mother wore a full length accordion pleated mauve colored gown with arrangement of roses on a wrist corsage. A reception for 250 guests was held at the John Evans Inn, Crystal Lake. The young couple will make their home in McHenry. The bride graduated from Marian Central in 1979 and attended McHenry County college. She is a teacher at Cooper Kiddie college. The groom graduated from Crystal Lake Central in 1977 and is employed as an installer for United Cablevision. ' The all white wedding cake, with champagne fountain and silk flowers on top was made by the bride's mother and Lorraine Young, friend of the bride's parents. A traditional wedding united Paula Diane Nelleseen and Warren Melum, Oct 23, in Rosholt, Wis. The bride is the granddaughter of Wanda Wisniewski of McHenry. Father Donald Walczak performed the noon ceremony at St. Adalbert's Catholic church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nellessen of Rosholt and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs! Julian Melum of Amherst Junction, Wis. The bride's white satin gown complemented by a beaded pearl bodice was enhanced by a a veil with blusher, and a 10 foot train. Satin slippers completed the ensemble. The maid of honor, Jacci Nellessen of Rosholt wore a light purple gown trimmed with white lace. She wore a matching wreath of flowers in her hair. He and the other gentlemen serving the groom wore silver gray tuxedos with satin collars and ascots. Other attendants to the bride and groom from Amherst Junction in­ cluded Kelley and Steve Scott; Clinton, Karen and Mike Lane; Bob Catholic Daughters Honor Four Members Melum} and Susan Suebring. From Rosholt were Kathrine, Lauren and Colleen Nellessen; Lisa Glodowski, Marie Sommers and Jask Schiller. Ron Wolberg of Iola, Wis., and Mike Toellner of Green Bay also served. George Lyle came from Dallas, Texas, to take part in the festivities. Laurene Nellessen and Jason Schiller assisted as veil carriers, Kathrine Nellessen, as flower girl, and Clinton Lane, as ringbearer. The mother of the bride chose a long, deep purple dress similar to that of the attendants. The groom's mother also wore a long dress, choosing light purple to blend with the others. Tne bride is a 1981 graduate of Rosholt high school. The groom is a * 1973 graduate of Iola high school and a 1978 graduate of Ambassador Colleges of Texas and California and the University of Wisconsin at Steven's Pdint. The bride's grandfather, Leo Nellessen, is a former Woodstock resident. Catholic daughters of Court Joyce Kilmer No. 573 were honored at their November meeting for their sixty-two years membership of loyalty and devotion in the 180,000 member national organization's Work serving especially the sick and the elderly as well as the needy children in our society. Congratulatory gifts were presented by Regent Bert ilia Freund to Laura Weber, Nellie Doherty, Florence Knox and Dorothy Weber. Laura received extra recognition and good wishes for having an October birthday. All members were sweet- treated to special anniversary refreshments arranged and served by hostess Alvera Nye and Bobby May. Jeannette Driscoll and Eleanor Strache were attendance prize recipients, and Celia Blake and husband, Frank, were memorably well-wished for their coming sixty- seventh year of wedded bliss. Vice-Regent < Mary Agnes. Hart- mann's presence after some Western state enjoyable family visiting was especially welcomed. A very stimulating and innovative State Workshop was hosted by the Immaculate Conception Court in De Kalb on Sunday,n Oct. 24, at the Holiday Inn motel, and was presided by State Regent Mrs. Margaret J. O Donneil. Their theme "The Power of Prayer in Our Lives" was well discoursed and executed. Past State Regent, Josephine Vocht, now a national director highlighted the national convention held in Chicago in 1982. Members of the McHenry Court who went to DeKalb were Regent Bertilla Freund, Trustee Clara Slegar, Recorder Emily Lamberty, Monitor Oleva Clucas, and Treasurer Sue Wruck. Joyce Kilmer's Court will welcome members and friends at a Day of Recollection in St. Mary of the Assumption church, 10 a.m. Nov. 3. Entrance is a bag lunch and a promise MR. AND MRS. The daughter of jMr. and Mrs. Leonard Bohacs of Midland, Mich, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Dick of Waakegan, IU. repeated their nuptial vows before the Rev. Charles Litchfield at a 4 p.m. ceremony en Aug. 21. Relatives and friends attended; the reception in the main dining room at the Hilton Resort Following a honeymoon in Traverse City, Mich, the newlyweds are residing in Waukegan. The bride has been emplolyed by Deck House, Inc. in McHenry for the past four years, as executive secretary. Methodist Women Offer Halloween Breakfast On Sunday, Oct. 31, Halloween, the United Methodist Women of the First United Methodist church of McHenry are sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the church, 3717 W.
