Marian Central Sets Dinner-Dance Marian Parents' Association's fall fund raiser will be a dinner dance to be held Saturday, Nov. 20, at the John Evans Inn in Crystal Lake. A prime rib dinner will be provided with cocktails at 6:30 and dinner at 8 p.m. There will be dancing from 9 to 12, featuring the big band sounds. Several individuals have already donated sizable checks, churches are con­ ducting special drives, and schools and organizations are contributing We feel someone must be watching over us - when we have a dire need, quite unexpectedly we are given the means to meet it. If you would like to contribute groceries, paper articles, soap, etc., please bring them to St. Patrick's church, to the side door on the left, and place them inside on the landing any day of the week of Nov. 14 to 20. The boxes will be packed in St. Patrick's hall Sunday, Nov. 21. We need drivers and junior high or high school boys to help load the cars. If you can help, please phone 385-0258. The evening started by swearing in of Cub Scouts. Also, all of the Scouts dressed in Halloween costumes, which were judged by audience applause. The evening ended with the second annual carnival Each den designed a game to play and handed out small prizes to the winners. There was also apple bobbing, popcorn, coffee and punch. A good time was had by all Scouts and their- families. This month'there will be a Father- Son Ca^e Bake. This activity is an interesting one. Each Scout and his dad will mix, bake and decorate a cake without' any help from other family , members.
