DEATHS MARLOWE THOMPSON it Marlowe L. Thompson, 76, a resident of Island Lake the last 30 years, died Thursday, Nov. 18, at Sheltering Oaks nursing home in Island Lake. He was born May 16, 1906, in Chicago. Mr. Thompson is survived by a son Lawrence of McHenry; two daughters, Lois Deschauer of Wauconda and Mrs. Bruce (Diane) Augustyniak of McHenry; eight grandchildren; two great­ grandchildren; and a sister, Hazel Hokenson of Annaheim, Calif. Funeral services were held at the Wauconda funeral home Monday, with the Rev. Lawrence J. Thompson officiating and interment was in the' Wauconda cemetery. .. FERN ACKER Fern D. Acker, formerly of Pistakee Terrace, McHenry, died Thursday, Nov. 18, at McHenry hospital. She was 76 years old, born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. March 17, 1906, the daughter of William and Lau (Martin) Davis. Mrs. Acker lived in the McHenry- Johnsburg area about 15 years, having come from Chicago. She was preceded in death by her husband Jacob J. Acker, Feb. 2,1976. Survivors are a brother Charles F. Davis of Pistakee Terrace, McHenry and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Peter M. Justenfc Son funeral home, with Pastor Roger W. Family Service Open House The Family Service & Community Mental Health Center for McHenry County's Crystal Lake area office open house will be held Dec. 8 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the new location at 457 Coventry, Crystal Lake. Tax practitioners and consultants from McHenry county will be brought up to date on federal and state income tax rules and regulations during a two-day school Dec. 7 and 8, at Crystal Lake. Special attention will be given to problem federal income tax topics such as Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Bill of 1982; Bankruptcy and Repossessions; The 1981 Economic Recovery Tax Act; Filing and Processing; What's New; Net Operating Losses; Farm and Urban Problems; Capital Gains and Losses; and Miscellaneous Topics such as Installment Contracts, Part- •ime Farmers, etc. The Farm Income Tax school is one of 24 being presented throughout the state by the University of Illinois Cooperative Extension Service. Brian Sager, McHenry county Extension adviser, says the school is restricted to persons who prepare income tax returns for others. While generally oriented to preparing farm tax returns, the schools will also offer considerable information relating to all types of income tax returns, Sager adds. The Chicago and Springfield districts, Internal Revenue Service and the Illinois Department 6f Revenue are cooperating in presenting the schools. Those agen­ cies will provide specially trained instructors. ' Advance registration is required, and only persons who have pre- enrolled will be able to attend. Each school enrollment will be limited to the number that can be ac­ commodated comfortably. Enrollees will be assigned to the location of their choice on a first-come basis, and then to their second or third location choice.
