PAGE 2 - PF.AfNDEALER - FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 26.1982 Smurfs' 12 Days Of Christmas Circle Slates Christmas Party The Marcia Mary Ball Circle of the United Methodist Women, of the First United Methodist Church of McHenry will have its Annual Catered Christmas Luncheon Tuesday, Dec. 7, at noon, in the Fellowship hall of the church. Lyda Radisch, hostess, will have to know exactly how many will attend, so those planning to come should let her know as soon as possible. This luncheon and party is always a very festive event and most enjoyable afternoon. The hostess hopes all members will be there. The Marcia Mary Ball Circle meets on the first Tuesday of the month in the church parlor, and invites any ladies in the church who are not af filiated with a circle to attend. This is a very warm and friendly group of ladies, and newcomers are always welcome. Senior Walk-In Center . Meals are served Monday through Friday at the McHenry Walk-In center beginning at 11:45 a.m. Reservations must be made by 1:30 p.m. the day before at 385-8260. The menu for the week of Nov. 29 through Dec. 3 is as follows: Nov. 29: Boiled dinner with potatoes, carrots and cabbage; pineapple, cheddar cheese salad; breads; baked custard; milk. Nov. 30: Barbecued chicken, scalloped potatoes, spicy vegetable salad, roll, apple cobbler, milk. Dec. l: Fish with shrimp sauce, baked potato, mixed vegetables, corn bread, butterscotch pudding with whipped topping, milk. Dec. 2: Spaghetti with meat sauce, broccoli, peach and cottage cheese salad, garlic bread, white cake, milk. Dec. 3: Liver and onions, parsley creamed potatoes, wax beans, tossed salad, assorted breads, fruit cup, piece of cheese, milk. HEATHER ANN NEWKIRK ANNOUNCE ENGAGEMENT - Mr. and Mrs. Robert Newkirk of McHenry announce the engagement of their daughter Heather Ann, to Ken Bottari, son of Dr. and Mrs. Leonard Bottari. Both are 1979 graduates of Marian Central high school. The prospective bride is a senior at Bradley university and the future bridegroom is a senior at Lewis university. A Spring, 1984 wedding is planned. Members of FISH prepaied many Thanksgiving baskets for the needy in the area. Those wishing to donate to FISH for December can bring their items to the homes of any of the officers, and they will see that delivery is made promptly, because there will be no meeting in December, due to the gala Christmas party. FISH is doing a wonderful job in the area and need all the help they can get. Any member who has not yet made a reservation for the Christmas dinner party can do so by contacting Frances Kostka, promptly. The Lakeland Park Women's club is open to all ladies in Lakeland Park and Lakeland Shores. Those who do not already belong are invited to come and participate in the projects and good times enjoyed by all. The Lakeland Park Women's club will meet for its Annual Christmas Dinner Party at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 9, at the Village Squire restaurant, McHenry. Santa Claus has promised to attend the party and distribute the $3 grab bag gifts. Members can also bring gifts for their Secret Pals if th«y so desire. The club is rather small, but quite active, consisting of many widows on limited income. However, they are very community-minded and have chosen as their goals this year to help the McHenry Area Rescue Squad and FISH. The group had a White Elephant Sale at the November meeting, and by having a super auctioneer, was able to realize enough to send a check for $50 to the McHenry Area Rescue Squad. In addition, they delivered to FISH an abundant donation of non- Chairman Curtis Bremer is shown with Mary Ann McGee, going over a few of the numerous bills which she has incurred since becoming a victim of cancer. In an attempt to assist her with the total debt which has exceeded the limits of., iter insurance coverage, the Aid Assocation for Lutherans and Zion Lutheran church are sponsoring a benefit Pancake Breakfast on Dec. 5, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held at the American Legion hall, 2505 N. Ringwood road, McHenry, and tickets can be purchased at Zion Lutheran church, 4206 W. Elm street or Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church, 404 N. Green street, both McHenry. In addition to several McHenry business establishments, tickets can also be obtained from members of the Board of AAL at Zion church, including Jack Pitel, Elmer Boeldt, Bruce Hanley, Dick Glaw, Del Hansen, Terry Hivon, Arnold Laabs and Darrick Rosinski. Everyone is invited and urged to attend this "all you can eat" breakfast of pancakes and sausage.
