Doris Low Koty Christopher RINGWOOD NEWS 653-9262 385-8037 Spencers Are Seeing Double Lenny and Cherie" Spencer will be seeing double this Christmas when their daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Peter Brenner, join them for the holiday. The Brenners have twin boys, Nicholas and Adam, who were born Nov. 15 and Cherie says they are identical except that one is slightly heavier than the other. Former Ringwoodites, Byron and Lucille Sowers are the maternal great-great- grandparents; Sherman and Mary Spencer are great-grandparents, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Peter Brenner, Sr. We wish much happiness for Laura and Peter with their two little sons. TRAVELERS The weekend prior to Thanksgiving found Art and Mary Baker, with daughter Laura, traveling to Strawberry Point, Iowa for a visit with the grandmothers. Thev helped Mary's mother celebrate her eighty- sixth birthday. THANKSGIVING DAY > GETTOGETHERS Karen and Greg Bazilewich and children, Guy, Nicky and Troy, spent the day with Karen's brother, Ed and Rose Kerwin in Lake Villa. Karen's father and mother were there, making a total of 19 present to enjoy dinner. Karen's sister Judy and George LaGrow are parents of a new little girl, Naomi, born Nov. 23. This makes Karen and Greg aunt and uncle again and evens out the grandchildren for Karen's father, Warren Kerwin, to five girls and five boys. The Paul Walkingtons and son Lee attended the annual Benoy dinner at Hebron. There were 40 in attendance this year, a little smaller group than usual but all had a very enjoyable day. Lynn and Kevin Bauer and boys, her brother Tony Weber, Jr., sister Debbie and hubby Pete Braden of Pistakee Hills, sister Cheryl and Art Meyer of Lake Villa were with Lynn's mom, Lois Weber, of McHenry. Debbie and Bill Bork and son Aaron of Chicago and Bill's mother and grandmother also of Chicago, David and Kim of McHenry, and Dolores and David Cornelia and little Nicholas of Woodstock all spent the day with Bob and Martha Betts. Martha served a delicious dinner for her children and their families. There were 20 present at Lowsville and after a delicious dinner, all relaxed with some watching the game on TV and others doing crafty things and working on Christmas projects. A call from Phoenix, Ariz, brought word from daughter Donna and family as they were visiting uncle Darold Thomas, Doris's brother, and Mabel Thomas who is staying with her son Darold and family for the winter. Mabel said it was in the 70's and the little ones were running around barefoot. Carol and Gary Haskell and family spent the day with Carol's sister and mother and father in Lindenhurst. Then on the weekend they traveled to Mattoon, 111. to be with Gary's grandmother. The Chris Ferrara family traveled to Elgin for turkey with Linda's mom, brother and cousin and their families. Saturday, Thanksgiving was celebrated at the Ferrara home with Chris's brother and family, mother and father, here in Ringwood. 'Twas very special as they had their homegrown ham and goose to eat. Chris and Sally Delby spent a quiet day together and had a delicious spaghetti dinner shaped like a turkey, (Chris seems to think that Sally's spaghetti sticks together anyhow) including all the trimmings, cran berry sauce, etc. Then they spent the rest of the day working on their new van. On Sunday they traveled to Matteson, 111. to have turkey with Chris' parents and the rest of his family. So they spent a busy weekend. Dinner at the Mick Daurio home was enjoyed by Nancy's mom and dad, Mick's mom and dad, his brother Jim and wife Cindy and brother Tom. There was a total of 15 to share their blessings. Credit for dirty dish detail goes to sister-in-law Cindy who did all the dishes. Latecomers of the day were Jim True and wife Angie and their two children, Dawn and Joline. Jim is in the Navy and they have spent a couple of years in Australia and they stopped in at the Daurio's for a visit before traveling on to Florida where Jim is now stationed. Larry and Diane Cristy were home from Indianola, Iowa for a visit with his folks, Bill and Shirley Cristy. Attending the family dinner on Thursday were Mrs. Clara Cristy, Bill and Terri Anderson with daughter, Theresa, and Sherri Cristy. Art and Katy Christopher were also guests. Since Dave Christopher couldn't get home, his sister, Patty and Bernie Feilen spent the weekend with him at Farmington and enjoyed their feast on Saturday. Ben and Lois Jacobs flew to Dallas, Tex. to be with their daughter and son- in-law, Laura and Ken Rupp and their family. The Rupps live in Anchorage, Ala., but Ken had business to attend to in Dallas and this gave the Jacobs an opportunity to visit with the folks and their five-year-old grandson, Travis, as well as to get acquainted with the newest member of the family, little Keith Rupp who was born Oct. 14. While her folks were in Texas, Lora Jacobs spent the holiday with other family members and friends. She is a student at the U. of W. - Whitewater. U.M.W. TO MEET The Ringwood United Methodist Women will meet in the home of Alice Peet Thursday, Dec. 9 for their Christmas party. Those who have secret pals may bring their exchange gift at this time if they wish. The ladies will meet at 12 o'clock for a pot luck lunch. THE HORSEY SET byK Bazilewich Recent census tells us that some 60,000 horses are presently in the McHenry county area. And for some of those owners living in Ringwood, I hope you're aware of the new Glacier park trail entrance off the south end of Hart§ road. The correct.name for these trails, by the way, are "Nip- persink". The trail starts at Harts road and extends all the way over to Keystone road near Barnard Mill road. This is a 5l/2 mile trail one way, and was very much needed in our area. I've traveled the complete distance with my horse about four times now and have found the trails quite beautiful. We had deer bound in front of us twice, not to mention lots of other wildlife. In wet weather the trails have their low spots and if your horse refuses to go through water, you may have trouble if you go out by yourself. So, please take advantage of these new trails whenever you get the chance. More detailed information can be obtained from Ken Fisk, head of the McHenry County Conservation District. VARSITY WRESTLER Guy Bazilewich was proud to let his parents, Karen and Greg, know that he made the varsity wrestling team for the second year. Guy is a sophomore at Johnsburg high school.
