Walz EXTRA -- Veteran actors Gregory Peck and Robert Vaughn have seen a resurgence in their careers during the past few months. Both of them were featured in CBS' recent ratings smash "The Blue and the Gray," the Civil War saga. Peck will be seen later this season in "The Scarlet anqj the Black," in which he'll portray Monsignor O'Flaherty, a Roman Catholic priest stationed in the Vatican during World War II who is credited with saving allied POWs through a secret organization. The true story will also air on CBS. Vaughn, of course, has been signed to do "The Man from U.N.CLE." remake. He'll also be featured as Superman's nemesis, the rich and powerful Ross Webster, in "Superman III," which will be released via Warner Bros, next summer. ITEMS -- Ron Samuels is now working on several TV- movie and series concepts. He'd like to make a serial based on "A Summer Place," the 1959 film that starred Troy Donahue and Sandra Dee. Samuels is also working on two TV-movies -- "Two Kinds of Loneliness," about two men and "The Collec tor," based on the best-selling book by John Fowles One project that he might have trouble finding an outlet for is "Passion," the story of a woman who falls in love with her stepson. Pontiac, in an effort to boost sales of its new Firebird, has made a TV special to air Sunday, Jan. 23 on an ad- hoc network. Norm Crosby will be one of the hosts. The star of the show will be the sporty Firebird, which is being used liberally on NBC's "Knight Rider." Natalie Carroll, a former Pontiac employee, will be featured as the leather-clad "Firebird Girl.' Marc Singer and Faye Grant will co-star in "V," NBC's extraterrestrial drama airing next year. Singer is the brother of Lori Singer of NBC's "Fame" and co- starred last summer opposite Tanya Roberts in "The Beastmaster." Miss Grant spent the past two seasons as a secondary character on ABC's "The Gre; American Hero." Dick Clark Cinema Productions has completed wor* on "The Woman Who Willed a Miracle" for ABC. The drama, which stars Cioris Leachman, is about a boy born blind, mentally retarded and palsied, but who makes a miraculous recovery by age 16. ©1982 Computog
