Donations of food, toys, clothes, and money were contributed by members of the community, both as groups and individuals. Not one of the con tributors that I talked to wanted any special thanks or even to have it known who they were. Some of them even went out and did special shop ping just in the true spirit of giving of time and energy to make Christmas a better time for someone else. Some of the CBers who helped were Cobra, Blue Jay, Scotchman, Silver Streak, Oilman, and M and M. Strange sounding names, but kind hearted people. Gabby was grateful to his CB friends and all the others who helped. All in all, four families were helped, but thos£ who were involved were helped in a marvelous way also. BELATED GREETINGS Both of the Miller children, Jimmy and Jamie, whose parents are Jim and Sharon, celebrated December birthdays. Jimmy celebrated his special day on Dec. 7, and Jamie's was Dec. 16. Sharon says it's hectic having both children with birthdays during December and then getting ready for Christmas. It's cleat* sailing for the rest of the year though! Happy birthday to both Jimmy and Jamie, even though it is belated. LOOKING FOR SNOW There have been some disappointed looks on little faces in Jim and Sara Hearity's home lately. Sara has been enjoying a visit by her mother, sister, and brother-in-law, and their two children, along with Sara's brother, all from Texas. The children were anxious to come to aunt Sara's house for Christmas because they would be able to play in the snow. Up until the time of this writing, no snow has been found. Us northerners know it will come sooner or later, but it's too bad we couldn't share it tfith those Texans! i '? '<• '• ;• * AMERICAN LEGION BUILDING The American Legion Post home is progressing nicely. The frame work is complete and the metal outer shell is going up. The shell should be completed soon. It's an exciting event for all legion members who have been looking forward to this day for many years. When completed, the hall will be _ available for other organizations to hold the key to controlling for gatherings also, and easily cancer and a host of infec- accessible because of the ramp being tious diseases. put in along with the usual stairs. Scavenger Cells Macrophages are scaven gers that keep our bodies cleared of dying cells, dead bacteria and debris. Once called "the trash men of the body," macrophages nay 1983 ON ITS WAY It's that time again to take down one calendar and put up the new one. It always looks so good to see an empty calendar with.no dates filled in yet of places to go, meetings to attend, dentist appointments to remember, or school events to plan for. It won't take long though until most of those little squares get filled up for most of us. Hope 1983 is filled with all the best for all of you. Happy New Year!
