After the chairmen of various committees submitted their reports, Linda Jachimo and Etta McCarthy presented a cultural program on Fine Arts: Com municating with Music. Later in the month, a Backward party was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Joel Boeka. Many members dressed back ward, walked in backward, and even parked the car backward. Breakfast was served at about 7 p.m. in the form of a silly supper and fun was had by all. Dorothy McKenna hosted the second meeting in January with a social hour preceding the business meeting, which was opened by Dee Boeka, president. Among the many discussions was that of the upcoming Valentine Dinner Dance to be held at the Iron Skillet in Algonquin Feb. 12. Karen Colomer gave the cultural program on Fine Arts: Canvas and Clay. The meeting ended with the closing ritual. Five Generations Twenty-five T.H.E.O.S. members met for their January get-together at a local restaurant and after enjoying a delicious meal, the group went to the First United Methodist church. Upon arriving at the church, everyone was surprised with a beautiful calendar cake to com memorate every T.H.E.O.S. 1983 birthday. It was a delightful birthday ALCW Sets Potluck Lunch And Suppers On Saturday, Feb) 12, the American Lutheran Church Women will hold their general meeting at noon. A potluck salad luncheon will be followed by the film "Women in Crisis", featuring three different women in underdeveloped parts of the world and their special problems. Everyone is invited to attend. At 6:15 p.m. Ash Wednesday, Feb. 16, the first in a series of potluck suppers to be served before the Lenten worship services will be held. Each family is asked to bring their own flatware and place servings, and a dish to pass. The weekly suppers will take place through the Lenten season, every Wednesday through Mar. 23, with the last one at 6:15 p.m. Maundy Thursday, Mar. 31. party and a good time was had playing games, winning prizes, and enjoying the cake. T.H.E.O.S. is a warm, friendly, casual group, non-denominational, with no age restrictions, and no dues, for widows and widowers, meeting the third Monday of each month for dinner together at 5:30 p.m. at some local restaurant, and then going to me church for an evening of fun and fellowship. The next T.H.E.O.S. get-together will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, at "The Spirit of a New Decade" restaurant, 1225 N. Green street, McHenry. Sunday, Mar. 20, marks the day the Auxiliary to Northern Illinois Medical Center (McHenry hospital) presents its annual "La Fashion Affaire" at Chapel Hill Country club in McHenry. The event, a fashion show and champagne brunch, benefits the hospital, and is one of many projects sponsored throughout the year by the auxiliary. Over 45 outfits from local stores wiU highlight the style show segment of the brunch. Auxiliary members busily planning the show include Janet Skopec, left, and Char Mowery, who are acting as co-chairmen. Although she has not lived in McHenry in recent years, Mrs. Kaelin regards the city as her home. She has many friends in the McHenry area. Post and auxiliary members and their color teams, will march to the tomb and present their American flags and banners around the monument, forming a beautiful tribute to Lincoln. NAFW Dinner-Seminar Features And Decisions wins Workshop leader for the Feb. 17 - NAFW (National Association of Future Women) Fox Valley chapter will be Mary Coeli Meyer, PhD., who will lead a seminar, "Making the Most of Your Women's Intuition-Creative Problem Solving and Decision Making". The seminar will be held at the Cattleman's restaurant, routes 62 and 25, Algonquin, with networking and registration from 5 to 5:45 p.m. and the workshop at 6 p.m. Ms. Meyer, president of an in ternational management consulting firm, designs human resource systems which integrate technology and people for mutually positive end results.
