The contest for individuals low net was won by Judy Schmitt in class A with a 33, Shirley Klapperich in class B with 33 and Pat Feiner in class C with 30. The printer's imp or the gremlins got into the copy last week and the wrong person was given credit for Judy Schmitt's low putts of 12 and the Little Chef was left out of the team standings. MEA CULPA. There was little in outstanding golf to report this week except Lu Funks nifty chips in on two and Nancy McAuliffe's low putts of 14. Dropping from first place to out of the running, the team of Espar Oja, Mabel Smith, Floss Miller and Fran Herrmann was replaced by last week's fourth place team of Virginia Turner, Joan Schloskey, Char Zwissler and Lynn McKiernan with a net total erf 660. Remaining in second place with 671 was the team of Marlene Smith, Laverne Harpling, Linda Puccio and Betty Gossell. Also holding, for third place, with 678 was the team of Carol Cooney, Margie Blomquist, Gladys Warfield and Magda Henhapl. Fourth place with 680 eased in the Johnny- come-lately team of Gloria Otth, Betty Smith, Joy Rossman and Toots Gerstad. And, in fifth place with 681 was the team of Betty Mohan, Dot Christiansen, Maddie Holmes and Ursula Cisliak. If Liz Nolan could putt she might have a fine low net in class A. As it was, there was a three-way tie of 79 for that event between Nolan, Virginia Turner and Betty Mohan. Another tie in the same class for low putts was ANOTHER CLOSE CALL -- A perfect throw from Warrior third baseman Patti Johnson (left) into the outstretched hands of Val Kilday at first base keeps the no-hitter alive for Cissy Pinkstaff. Vickie Lang Woodstock runner, j STAFF PHOTO--WAYNE GAYLORD shared by Mohan, Eunice Hatch and Marlene Smith with 32 each. More ties took place in class B with Evie Castle and Margie Blomquist each netting 80. Laverne Harpling and shots at the various holes. That may be how Floss picked up the monicker of Holy Demon. Then, a new member, Mickey Farmer, exhibited Amazonian strength by driving her Pat McDonald £ach low-putted with 29 number one tee shot through the roll-ins. Another tie, in class C for low net with 79 each was shared by Ursula Cisliak and Speedy Neumaiv^All by herself, Joy Rossman tooHtfw putts of 32 each in die same claaf. Best low net of the day was 77, shot by Lotte Koch in class D, while Betty Wayman had low putts of 33 in the same class. Better shooting for eveyone next week when an Indi visual Point Tournament will be held. In spite of a broken toe, Betty Mohan had a decent game (she said); however, Betty Phelan suffered from chillblains because of the drear, damp day. All in all, no one reported anything spectacular, although a few observations were made. Maddie Holmes handled the creek on number eight by skipping her ball over the water while Dot Baker had a run-in with a duck on the same hole. It seems Floss Miller and Fran Herr mann were seen exchanging sand chainlink barrier fence giving her a poor placement (she did play it as it lay). Nicer notes found both^Wrole Barnicle and Janet Conway sinking one-putters on number 14 for birdies. And, chips-ins were recorded by Fran Wayland on number one, Lynn McKiernan on number four, Virginia Turner on number 10 and Mary Mutchinsky on number 16 -- which, of course, makes up for -- Happy Golfing! Outside of Dan, I thought his final opponent Scott - Hayes was the strongest singles player in the tour nament." the finals.'"The singles competition was really up for grabs," said Spraetz. "I really felt any of the top four conference singles players could have won." Also placing in the conference match were the 'Hawks number one doubles pair of John Hendrixson and Jim Owen. "I'm very proud of the team, they all did very, very well," praised Spraetz. The Skyhawks will par ticipate in their district meet this weekend at Crystal Lake South and Central High Schools.
