McHenry County Sheriffs police, Spring Grove Fire department and Johnsburg Rescue squad were called to the scene where a southbound car had left the roadway and crashed into a utility pole. The victims/ James Allen Thorn, 21, 87 N. Lake avenue, Fox Lake, and Mary Joanne Rockich Thorn, 20, 6905 Prospect, Spring Grove, were pronounced dead at the scene. The accident occurred at about 4:17 p.m. June 6. . An investigation into the accident is being continued by county police and the McHenry County Coroner's office.
