Details about the three categories of competition may be obtained at the lair office on the fairgrounds in ^Building D. The 1963 Premium Book with details about the contest is now ^available. * Office hours are from 9 a.m. to 12:30 )>.m. Monday through Friday. Bill Tammeus, general chairman^ said there will be three divisions again this year: Junior, up through age 14 to December l, 1983; Senior, up through age 20 to December 1,1963; and Adult, over age 20. Accompanists for junior or senior entries must be under 24 years of age. The contest is open to any group or single entry living in McHenry county or attending school in McHenry county. The entry deadline is Wednesday, July 27 ami auditions will be held Sunday, July 31 at Hansen pavilion on the fairgrounds. Eight finalists will be chosen from each division to perform in the contest before the fair audience on Friday evening, Aug. 5. Cash awards will be presented. Tammeus said the first place winners in the .Junior and Senior divisions will compete in the state contest held at Springfield in January, 1964. Judges for the final competition will be five professionals in the field of music who live outside McHenry county. Assisting Tammeus on the committee for this popular home-town attraction are Kathy Thomas, Ken Kunzer and Stew Cohen.: Tammeus said persons may make entries simply by giving the type of entry, number of persons involved, type of talent, division and name of person to contact together with a phone number and address. Joseph and Suzanne LaVarra, 8924 Acorn Path, Wonder Lake, became parents of their second daughter March 4, and named her Erin Marie. .The baby girl entered the world at Foster McGaw (Loyola), Maywood, 111., weighing 2 lbs. 9 oz. and arrived home May 27 weighing 6 lbs. 3 oz. She has a sister Stefanie, age 16 months. Marian Nelson of McHenry is the maternal grandmother, and Carolyn LaVarra, also of McHenry, is the paternal grandmother. Activities are organized to aid in the development of sensory experiences, motor skills, art, music, books, dramatic play, and games, directed by a certified preschool staff.
