David Birkenkamp was the winning pitcher, striking out nine and only allowing two walks and six hits. Braves It Yankees 9: The Yankees scored nine runs in the third inning but fell short last week Wednesday. John Nellis and Dion Rathbone both had two hits for the Braves. Nellis scored three times and Rathbone knocked in two runs. Doug McMahon was the winning pitcher with five strikeouts and only allowing five hits. Sox 11 Giants 7: A six run third inning sparked the Sox win last week Tuesday. Billy Vaurik hit a three run triple and Coby Brandenburger hit a homer for the Sox. Michelle Williams, Kim Kunrer, Marlene Frantz, Christy Johnson and Beth Greve of Wally's Bike all had three hits. Frantz hit two doubles and one triple. Jenny Meyers had three hits for Sullivan's. Michelle Williams was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts and only two walks. JUNIOR McHenry State Bank 9 Party Maker's Catering 8: Tied 7-7 going into the sixth, McHenry State Bank scored twice and held Party Makers to one to win the game. Cheryl Kurowski came in relief to win the game, striking out seven, alowing only walk and four hits. Angela Coles was the losing pitcher. Billie Jean Van Cleave led State Bank with two homeruns and five rbi's. Kurowski and Schultz also hit homers for State Bank. Coles and Carlee Casperson each hit homers for Party Makers. Terry Rdlly, the assistant varsity basketball coach of McHenry High School will place emphasis on fundamentals, conditioning, and weight training relating to basketball skill development. This instructional basketball program for ninth grade students and older will begin on June 13 and run for six weeks. It will be held at East Campus. This instructional program will teach kids the fundamentals and basic skills of the game of basketball. Eight foot height baskets and smaller balls will be used as teaching aids in this program. Sessions will begin at McHenry Junior High School on June 13 con sisting of one week instruction and one week of games. The class time is from 1 to 2 p.m. Registration is being taken at McHenry City Hall. There is a fee. All registration is on a first come first serve basis.
