JUNE 29.1983 LAKEMOOR-LILYMOOR AREA Margaret Karas 385-4934 Deaths Stun Our Community The automobile crash Saturday night, June 18, will cause rever berations of pain for many people for many years. Two young men lost their lives, neighbor Gary Yerkes and Danny Raiford from Eastwood Manor. Our hearts go out in sympathy to Gary's parents Joe and Toni and to brother Andre, and to the Raiford family. On that Saturday night, Joe was faced with the fear of every fireman when an accident call comes through. His was the agony of being on the fire truck that responded to the call. Neighbor Phil Mieszala was standing next to Joe at the moment he realized his sons were injured. No one can know the depth of pain that was his at that moment. Gary had an ability for inventing things, and a great knowledge of all types of vehicles. Danny had just signed a contract to go into his own computer business. What these two young people would have ac complished in their lifetimes, we will never knOw. Such a waste for all of us. And such deep pain for the families and friends. ANOTHER SAD LOSS Christine A. Sances, devoted wife of Sam for many years, died June 18. She had not been feeling very strong for some time, but with Sam's tender loving care, she was content. Thfe funeral was held in Forest Parte Wednesday, June 22. Close friends Jim Cunningham and his son and daughter-in-law were among the neighbors who attended. Toni and Joe Yerkes, also very close friends of Chris and Sam, had their own grief to bear, but were still with Sam in their prayers. Chris and Sam have lived here for many years and have added much to the beauty of Lily Lake road with their lovely yard, and to the fellowship of the community with their frien dliness. There will be a vacancy in their home, but the happy memories will help fill the lonely times. Your sadness Is shared by many, door Sam.. i MORE MEMBERS NEEDED The Lakemoor Civic Improvement association will be meeting Thursday, June 30, at 7 p.m., at the Lakemoor Municipal building. BIRTHDAYS NOTED June 30 is Andre Yerkes* birthday. Wishes for release from pain of loss go to him. The first day of July finds at least four celebrations in our area. Young Chad Hueckstaedt of Lilymoor shares the July 3 date with Carol Schmidt of Lakemoor. No birthdays are listed for the 4th except our country's, Tom Koch takes the 8th as his day. SEAT BELT DEADLINE As of July l, children up to six years of age will be required to have the protection of a seat belt or infant seat whenever they are riding in an automated vehicle. This is.now a state law, made necessary by the number of deaths of little children in car ac cidents. Short trips to the store will now take a little longer, but the saving of a child's life is worth an extra few minutes. And it is now a law, with a penalty for not obevina CONGRATULATIONS Lori Hertel was installed as the senior regent at the Women of the Moose meeting June 7. NEW MEMBER OF LIBRARY BOARD Ralph Narcaroti of Lakemoor was given the oath of office by Edna Mueller, secretary of the McHenry Nunda Library District Board at the monthly meeting June 23.
