AUGUST 13 McHenry Area Toastmasters Club- 9 a.m.-McHenry Country Club- Guests Welcome. - i I „ Lawsuit Names Doctor, Hospital A lawsuit charging negligence on the part of a McHenry area physician, Northern Illinois Medical Associates (N1MA) and Northern Illinois Medical Center (d.b.a. McHenry hospital) has been filed in 19th Judicial Circuit court. 'Judith Vann Hefner brought suit alleging that tubal ligation surgery performed by Dr. Joseph Dickstein in July, 1981, resulted in a punctured bladder and other organs. Ms. Hefner charged that Dr. Dickstein and NIMA were negligent in failing to use proper procedure for the surgery, failing to comply with ac­ cepted medical practices, cutting or puncturing the patient's bladder, failing to inspect the area to deter­ mine if damage had been done, failure to take proper note of the bladder at the time of the tubal ligation, using defective equipment for the cauterization and failing to promptly repair the damage. The suit alleges damages in excess of $100,000 due to pain, disfigurement, additional and future medical ex­ penses and lost income. The suit seeks sums in excess of the $15,000 jurisdictional limits of the court. . BIRTHS James Johnson and Ann Huska, 2103 N. Woodlawn, McHenry, announce the birth of their first child June 19. James Peter, III was born at McHenry hospital and weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz. Maternal grandparents are Glenn and Julia Huska of McHenry. The 8 lbs. 1 oz. baby boy entered the world at Memorial Hospital for McHenry County, Woodstock and he was named Michael Robert. Maternal grand­ parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nickels of McHenry.
