AUGUST 31,1SS3 MCHENRY SHORES Kino Keen 344-2665 Columnist Is Writing Again . After a much needed "rest" and an unbelievable busy summer, all rolled into one, we're back at the typewriter with lots of news to catch up on. We hope you missed us, and would like to see us more on a regular basis. We need your help for that, so please call me with any birthdays, anniversaries, 0r news you'd like to share. I'd love to hear from all of you. Here in the Keen household, this summer was full of birthdays, with our "Moose" Michael celebrating his first birthday July 21; mine crept up on July 25; and hubby Bill's followed Aug. 26. We had beautiful day, and for a change, not too hot weather for a big family and friends celebration at the aid of July It was a day of good food, good friends, and loving family all around us; one that we will long remember and cherish; especially when we start complaining of the cold weather and snow, come this winter. (Though, after this hot summer, most neighbors are swearing they will never say anything bad about cool tem peratures again.) We'll see! After, a long and constant battle with a nasty and huge set of tonsils, our four-year-old Kristen finally had them out last month, mended pretty quickly, and is now back to pre school, swimming, driving me crazy, and generally back to her old self, none the wbrse for wear. And, of course, as most brothers and sisters are, they always have to get and do what their siblings do, so Michael, not to be outdone by his big sister, proceeded to get ai doozy of a viral infection, which, of course, because he loves his mommy so much, he had to share with me. Oh well, like I said, just your usual summer routine. BIRTHDAYS We have lots of birthdays to catch up on that we missed this summer, so please accept our belated wishes to all these friends who celebrated their special days this summer. Terry Tobeck's was June 20; Bernice Wilson, June 23; Fred Heald, Sharon Strach, and Linda Kurowski, all July 25; Colleen Kapp, July 26; and Hack Wilson, July 31. In the month of August we had friend and neighbor Diane Nott having a very nice birthday Aug. 24. "Happy Birthday" to all, and to those we missed, give us a call so we can add you to our list. ANNIVERSARIES Two special couples from the Shores celebrated their anniversaries in August; Terry Donna Tobeck Aug. 2; and Fred MaryLou Heald Aug: Congratulations, aftd best many more good years ' . . Get well wishes to Terry Tobeck who is temporarily hobbling around on crutches due to a bum leg. A flfw more days of "R k R" and he should be back to his old self, we hear.
