The family was especially pleased to have Robert L. Kamholz, Jr. from Slinger, WI (formerly of Carv, IL) attend the gathering. Robert has been actively researching the family history all the way back to Herman Kamholz, a great grandfather. He shared with Kamholz family members and was of great assistance in helping his newly discovered cousins piece together their family heritage. During the reunion some of the relatives drove to McHenry and showed the younger offspring the old kamholz home on Main Street, the grammar school their parents attended, and then viewed the many family graves in Woodland Cemetery, In attendance was the family of the late Mrs. Florence Kamholz Schmitt, Mrs. George Kamholz and Mrs. Ernestr Kamholz and their families. An added attraction this year was the video taping of the reunion. Grandma and Grandpa certainly would have been surprised to see themselves on instant replay!
