Rocket spikers split The Richmond Rocket girls' volleyball team split a pair of matches last week. Tuesday, the Rockets lost to Hamphsire 15-13,15-9, but came back Thursday to defeat Huntley 10-15, 15-5 and 17-15. ~ Karen Moore led against Hamphsire with four spikes for aces each. Ducy and Julie ed the Rockets Ducy was also seven-for- seven in serving with two aces. Moore had nine spikes for points against Huntley. Ducy had eight points out of 20 serves. Nancy Holian had five dinks for points. The Rockets are now 4-2 in the Big Eight Conference and 7-2 overall. McHenry's Steve Carby had the edge over Pat McDaniels of Crystal Lake Central at Ms point during the duel meet at West Campus, however, nipped Carby at the finish. McDaniels, Running Warriors escape past Tigers The cross country battle between Steve Carby of McHenry and Pat McDaniels of Crystal Lake Central has developed into a fierce battle the last couple years.
