Plans will be finalized for the annual Pancake Breakfast and Bake Sale, which will be held Oct. 30, at the Johnsburg Community Club. Breakfast will J* served from 7:30 a.m. until noon, and everyone is invited to attend. Marge Schmitt is in charge of the pizza party which will be held Oct. 17, at the regular meeting. Slate luncheon and card party A Halloween Luncheon and Card Party will be held Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Peter's Church, Spring Grove. Teachers set year activities On Monday, Oct. 3, the Alpha Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an organization of "key women teachers", met at Jefferson School in Harvard. President Nancy Tober presided 6ver the business meeting, and committees met to organize the coming year activities. Members participated in a memorial program to Mrs. Lucille Toussaint. Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4600 will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, at the post home on Route 120. Retired teachers to meet The McHenry County Retired Teachers' Association will meet Oct. 26 for a 12:30 p.m. luncheon at Timber's Restaurant, Woodstock, Routes 47 and By- Pass 14. After the luncheon, State Senator Jack Schaffer will talk, and all those attending are requested to . have their questions ready. , Charles^asGlover, Regional Director of the McHenry County Retired Teachers' Association, will also be present. Reports of committees pertaining to topics of interest to retired teachers will be given. Hold annual fund raiser Bright Oaks in Cary has plans well underway for its annual holiday bazaar. As in prior years, the event will be held Friday and Saturday before Thanksgiving, the 18th and 19th of November. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday. There will be a lovely assortment of beautiful handicrafts, all creative achievements of gifted local (and not so local) artisans and Bright Oaks folks. Handmade ornaments, wreaths, quilts, needlepoint, crocheted and knit items, dolls, doll cloihes, pillows, wood art and stained glass, and homemade kitchen goodies will be offered.
