The annual brunch is designed to help raise finds for the House of the Good Shepherd, a shelter and a^jport system for battered women and their children. JEFFREY VAN LANDUYT Present old fashions 'The Way We Wore", a historical fashion show from 1860 to 1900, will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Woodstock Opera House at* 2 p.m. This is a handsome, historical fashion show that is both en tertaining and ertrational. The authentic, vintage clothing reflects changing history and social customs. These original fashions are the collection of Mrs. Pat Stark of Rock- ford, who began collecting 20 years ago, and is an expert in clotting, having both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in clothing and textiles. The narration for her production is filled with facts abort the way clothing was once worn. She tells why frocks were spare or rich or austere or elegant. All the fashions have qualities appealing to the eye and are in natural fabrics. This presentation of fabulous costunes is being sponsored by the Woodstock Jaycee Women. Circle enjoys Bible study Getting ready for the United Methodist Women's Annual Fall Bazaar are co-chairmen Kathy Boehmer on the left and Sheila Wiedenhoeft. The bazaar will take place Saturday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the church Fellowship Hall. Features include many Fall and Christmas items, a country store, bake sale, plant table, and luncheon featuring three varietiesof quiche, a salad bar, sloppy Joe plate, dessert and beverage. The public is cordially invited for a chance to take care of holiday shopping and relax with a delicious lunch. New Moms group offers help 4n^here was good at tendance at the October meeting of the Marcia Mary Ball Circle, when Margaret Andersen and Mary Rose were hostesses, serving delicious refreshments. The study, "Women of the Bible" is the continuing study, led by Mary Rose with her taped commentary; and Rebekah was the woman for October. This is a most in teresting study which the circle is enjoying, and ap preciative of Mary's efforts. The group also ^enjoyed a discussion following the program. Members were asked to bring their handmade ar ticles for the Christmas sale ° to the church Friday, Oct. 21, and help set up for the bazaar. Bakery goods are to be brought-in by 8:30 a.m. Saturday, if possible. The next meeting of the group will be Tuesday, Nov. 1, at noon, in the church parlor, when Cleda Mc- Cracken and Helen Lundy will be the hostesses.
